"I wont look down on you for playing with strange balls. I mean, if that's what makes you happy." Sounds like his girlfriend wanted to play with strange balls!

    Jim Sal Cues-Opinions?

I see a number of Jim Sal cues on ebay that are attractive and reasonably priced. I assume the seller js1444 is probably the cuemaker, has a lot of positive reviews. For all I know he probably is a member here on this forum. Anybody have any experience? Recommendations? Thank you very...

    Recommendations for Cue Lathe

Ok everybody, let me know what I should be considering for a cue lathe. Thinking about this one for simple tip replacements but worried that I will wish I invested in something more substantial...

    Cracked/Scratched Ferrule

I once had a piece of chalk that had a small sharp contaminant surface near the front of the chalk. I think it was a metal chip but could have been a piece of glass or hard stone chip. It scratched a couple of ferrules on my cues and I found it by sticking my finger in the hole the tip formed...

    Flying with Cue Sticks

Never flown with my cues before, how do you guys fly commercial airlines with your cue sticks? Is it ok as a carry on piece of luggage? Do you pack your cues in your cue case and then stuff it in your suitcase and let it go in the general baggage compartment? Ever have any problems with...

Any conditioner you put on the tip might prevent the glue from adhering to the leather

Cue rubber bumper vs cue no rubber bumper

If you are interested, might want to take a look at urethane dampeners. They are used quite a bit in the archery sport and industry, both for competition and hunting. I have always thought about getting a three-piece cue and inserting some dampeners in the last joint to see what happens.

My personal gripe list buying on forums, or eBay.

Ok, getting back on track, I found a sleeper on eBay. It was a current production well known popular cue, brand name not not identified but priced close to $1,000 at seyberts with a single shaft, with a starting bid price of $40.00. Blurry pictures but the description had the shaft...

Less expensive or old cues that play surprisingly good

I have a old Schmelke Cue that plays surprisingly good. It hits nice and solid, follows and draws with precision, and deflection is predictable and consistent. I replace the elk master tip as needed and is a joy to play with. Granted, I am not the best pool player in the room but I am...

Per Hour Pricing Questions (not complaints!)

I like the idea of a free challenge table. Only pool halls around me are bars with a coin operated table or two.

    Pocket repair?

longer then short term repair? Get a leather stitcher or a sailors needle and a good size piece of leather. Fold the leather over the top of the steel rail and stitch it from inside out from the center out both ways. Can fringe the leather on the outside for a decent presentation. once you...

The raid at the rack - article

I was in Junior High at the time and lived in Ferndale, Michigan when that happened. The same night or at about the same time, there was a raid at a pinball place on 9 mile road in Ferndale. I was a bit young to be able to hang at the pinball place but was able to get inside occasionally...

    eBay Rant

Ok, just got my pool table set up and now I have to build up a collection of interesting cue sticks so I am off to eBay and put some bids on some nice, unique, vintage, or custom cue sticks that caught my eye. Want a nice selection for my guests that are not dedicated pool players, something...

    Shaft Deflection or Squirt

Hi Guys, Just getting back into the game and got my table set up in the basement. Been lurking here for a couple weeks, and I see all the tests on Deflection based on the shaft. Ok, I can see how a stiffer shaft would lead to less deflection but I do not see any comparison on the different...
