    Tips for Students of CTE

A Bonus From CTE In the league I play in, there are four different bars that still use the oversize cue ball. These have always given me problems with aiming. I even bought one of the larger balls so I could practice at home before league night. It helped some, but I still had problems...

    New Aiming System

But what about shots that are between the 90 shot angles that your system uses? If you're relying on pocket slop for the shot to go, then the system can't be exact or precise. I suppose it will work if you use "feel" to adjust for those other shots, though.

    Tips for Students of CTE

What I should have stated was: I used center to right edge of ob, left side of cue ball to A on the ob, with a half tip right pivot (cue tip starts right of center cue ball before the pivot). Thanks for catching that & I'll make yet another correction to post #9. As far as the bridge...

    Tips for Students of CTE

Some Tips Some tips that help me: A general tip is to learn the basic manual pivot cte well, before tackling the pro one part. 1 On the DVD, stan refers to "Aim Points" of A, B, & C. This causes some confusion for some of us. The first week, I assumed that Aim Points were to aim at...

an old, but new aiming system

Thanks for your generous offer. Something else you might consider, is to copy the instructions to a .PDF file. You could then send the material by email. If the original is in book or pamphlet form, the spine can be cut from it by one of the copy places like Staples. Once cut,it's easy to...

    Removing Chuck From Headstock

I want to clean and lube the 3 jaw chuck on my lathe that I bought used (so no manual with it). My headstock and chuck are a 1.4" bore, and I would like to know how to remove the chuck so I can get to the snap ring on the back for disassembly. I found a taig manual showing the smaller bore...

    CTE Trivia

Ahhh, the good ol days. I'm old enough, and was raised as a kid in a place that still used outdoor toilets. For the youngsters on this forum, one of the joys of using one of those outhouses on a hot, humid summer day, was having flies buzz around your ass... Not really dangerous or painful...

The 2nd problem shot is at 24:50. Since both of these shots are right pivots, I'm going to work on that aspect. I'm not really confused so much as I just need to work on the shots as shown on the dvd. Thanks for the offer of help though. I may take you up on that later.

    PRO ONE DVD: Answering Questions

Thanks for getting me to the point where I can discount the table making a difference. Now to experiment with my bridge placement & pivot. The hint about using ghost ball experience to confirm the setup would probably be good for ghostball users, but I've never been able to see the ghost...
