To answer your original question, take a small flat head screw driver and heat it red hot. Push it into the wood, it will burn it's way in. When it cools, you should be able to unscrew the tenon from the cutter. It might be possible to do this without the heat as well but that is how I was...

There is a local guy here in OR (about a 20min drive from my house) that has run a mill in the area since before I moved here, 16 years ago. He mainly cuts wood for gun stocks... Thought this might help someone out. I'm low on money or I'd most likely buy these, thought I'd pass this along...
