We just try to have fun and not worry about it too much..... after all if you arent having fun playing whats the point ;) as long as the guy isn't standing behind me pushing my cue in the middle of an 8 ball shot for 100.00 it really doesn't bother me.

It is not a loss unless you make the 8 and foul during the shot otherwise your opponent could just pull a safety and not give you a look at the 8....... You miss a kick shot at it and dont touch it or touch it and don't drive something to a rail...its ball in hand for your opponent not a loss of...

I like Leather for a little extra grip... have tried a few w/ rubber grips and they aren't too bad though... never really tried linen have always had either wrapless or leather.

Generally I just put up a couple quarters.... play for the table ..... let them break make a couple, miss.... I run rack... they put quarters in and rack.... I run another rack.... they get discouraged & leave... problem solved ;)
