    Biggest lies in pool stories

It's like $77 per minute now. You'd need to be Fargo 1000+ and knock off a few snooker majors.

    Biggest lies in pool stories

One of my favorite posts on here, I think it was Mike Page, is that the number of people who supposedly ran 100 "back in the day" is directly proportional to the number of people who hustled their way through college.

Chris “THE MAGICIAN” Melling Does It Again … More Amazing Shot Sequences

Pool also has two Icemans. Mika most famously nowadays, but Larry Hubbard had it first. But my all time favorite nickname is for Ervolino - The Velvet Foghorn. There's only one of those.

Pinky on or off during stroke.

Johnny Ervolino had the best pinky out stroke. Like he was holding a martini glass.

Paging Dr. Dave! How did this scratch?

Not that I can really explain it, but as others note and from experience there's a wider range of angles where you can follow the ball into the pocket on a shot like this than you'd expect. "No way I can follow it in on this one!" Followed by a scratch, or the CB getting hung up in the jaws.

Old Matches - How important is commentary?

From the small amount of very old Accu Stats tapes I've seen that basically only has Pat interject every few minutes to update the score, I'd only add the score on the screen as you suggest. Just the sounds of pool balls and the occasional lighter sparking up a cigarette is perfect for me. I...

Interesting Insights from Rory Mcllroy's Psych Doc

I can't remember where I read it, maybe it was a Phil Cappelle book or a Bob Jewett post. But someone once described pool as a "game of minimizing errors" and this post reminds of that.

    Best 9-Ball Breaks Today

I'm still sort of baffled at how the cut break works so well for the players today, where the CB zig zags through a bunch of balls flying around the table. But Filler seems to have it dialed in more consistently than anyone else.

Custom Pool cue makers from China?

North Demon Cues. I have one of his cues I designed with him and the work is amazing. He really specializes in ornate metal work, but there's almost nothing you can think of that he can't tackle. His shop is out of this world too. He's a member here, but I worked with him through Facebook...

The 90's called, pool is back!

That's awesome. If I stayed up until 5AM it would take me about a week to recover nowadays.
