And Hoppe did it at multiple disciplines- free game, balkline, 3C. 😉. In that regard we should mention Caudron and Ceulemans. Hoppe and Ceulemans competitive longevity is something, Caudron for carom all- around.
This is not a knock on Filler. He is great and he is doing this in the different pool disciplines. His one pocket play at his age and one pocket experience level is crazy good. But he isn’t doing it at billiards or snooker. I don’t think it could be done anymore as the level of play in billiards...
DCC Short races and short dollars in comparison. Imagine the last 40-50 at DCC all being undefeated and then extending the race.

That one surprised me. He seemed to get about the worst possible result out of it though. I think I see what he was trying to do but clearly risky. I don't feel qualified to fully criticize it tho.
Carom cues are still typically 56”. I think many cues were shorter way back when, like 54-55 in the carom crowd. Not totally sure of 1920 specs though…
Sorry you didn't want to address the WPA. If you want the excellent European players to make money you might want to think about it. It also seems you do care about us Americans playing on 7' tables. Look, I get that the US has a player development problem. It is a significant and complex...
Perhaps this is a source of disagreement. The WPA isn’t the governing body of pro pool. It seeks to be the international governing body and IOC connection. I checked the website in the “about” portion. Some of the recent dispute has been WPA sanctioning of pro events. Which I personally think is...
Your posts did. Now, it is possible we misread them. It is possible we misinterpreted them. But the content and tone of your posts left the impression that you really weren't going to play much. So I would say it is more of an inference than a presumption on the part of the posters. But...
I think the problems with US pool go beyond table size. It is a different culture and there are factors that hurt player development. But every time I see a post about Europe being the be-all end- all of pool because 9’ I get a visceral reaction to suggest the euro crowd come get some on Valley...
Yeah, one thing I’ve noticed is that pool players play pool. I don’t mean it in as trite a way as it sounds. The players play in all sorts of things. And when they are playing in a tournament they play between matches assuming open tables i.e. bar box tournaments they’ll play action match on...
But 8 ball is played on the bar boxes. And pros play on them. Because SVB and Bergman and Deuel and Matlock and McCready weren’t real players right? Yeah, Filler is good.
Oh, nice cue. A guy I know picked up a great example of one of those a while back. Beautiful. He took it to the BCA in Vegas and got an offer he couldn’t refuse.
I don’t think the “average +4” has a shot on tour. Maybe my estimate is off. But my WAG is that every guy on the Korn Ferry would be +4 or something at a club. Dunno. At the very highest level I don’t really see the handicap system working because the course conditions are so hard. You can’t...
Nice one. My Meucci from the 80’s is long gone. I remember it hitting softer than the new pro shafts. But still similar with same joint etc…. It will play fine. You can get new pro or carbon pro shafts for it if you want.
Extension ready for the excellent Duo extension. Cynergy shafts fit perfect if you want to upgrade. Great choice for a first cue. Regular Avid shaft plays good.
