    What would You do?

There was no point. The cue ball wobbled near the rail.

    What would You do?

    Clearly only 2 rails.

    What would You do?

In the final it might show that, but I don’t think so. I think it is a more difficult question in other situations in high level play. I think Fran’s point was valid and I think what I said in response was too. Think of this scenario. Semi finals. The remaining players are #1,2,3 and 58 in the...

    What would You do?

OK. Why? Your post didn’t address the question at all. You cited one clause of the rule after the word “or”. If you are right and the rule isn’t interpreted my way by the UMB, perhaps you should tell them to amend it.

    What would You do?

I do play 3 cushion. Not well. As I said above, in the small tournaments I have played, most players would alert their opponent if they noticed. They might not notice. I know your accomplishments, but you should not use those accomplishments to support the logical fallacy of an appeal to...

    What would You do?

How is it not during the inning if the ref calls it- especially if promptly after the stroke? “Or” is a pretty key word too.

    What would You do?

In championship play this is probably the proper way to do it, especially if the match isn’t a final. Protecting the field; it can affect other players in either a group stage or bracket.

    What would You do?

https://files.umb-carom.org/Public/Rules/CAROM%20BILLIARD%20RULES.pdf These were from the website. Chapter IV Fouls, Article 41 subpart 11. Are these not current? This is what I was saying that to me the UMB rule requires the ref to make the call, thus implying that the opponent can’t call...

Deflection question, explain how a stiffer CF shaft has less deflection.

Not a very scholarly response is it?

    What would You do?

Yes. But you seemed to say the ref couldn’t say anything until the opponent made the call. I don’t think that is the case. I think we agree the ref can’t do anything until the player plays the shot. Once the foul is committed the ref needs to call it. If the ref misses it at 49-49 in a world...

    What would You do?

Is this right? Translation of UMB rules seem to suggest only ref can make the call. USBA rule seems to indicate that player or ref can call the foul. English translation of UMB rules seem…. I don’t know how clear. The ref surely can’t say anything before the player fouls. Of course it needs to...

    CTE Aiming

What I am talking about is not CTE. The shift Geno talks about is not the CTE pivot.

    CTE Aiming

See my other post in response to CC. But I think seeing things more accurately will simplify things for me. So far it seems to. I am not a great player tho

    CTE Aiming

Well I didn’t see the gen 1 DVD. I agree if your other fundamentals are unsound you have problems. I haven’t worked with Dr. Dave so nothing I say is criticism of him. I have seen his vision center stuff and used it to some degree at least. What I am saying is I worked with Geno in June in...

    CTE Aiming

Geno’s shift is a real thing. I worked with him and IMO you have to work with him to see it. I am not ready to do a full review of it. It isn’t a one size fits all thing but depends on how you perceive the balls. IOW, I don’t think it’s fair to dismiss as a gimmick.

3 things you would change about pool

I see why you don’t like the looks. I don’t like the obnoxious shot clock and some of the rules. But it is still worth a watch IMO. You will see some good bar box 8 ball. I may have mentioned it before but I like watching the Seco Varani invitational on YouTube. They posted the last several...

3 things you would change about pool

I’ve had to adjust my attitude about some stuff. Not just in pool but in other areas of life. I tend toward curmudgeonly traditionalism in various things. It is generally unrealistic and leads to disappointment. So yes, you can set up your pool utopia in your basement and play 14.1 alone. Or you...

3 things you would change about pool

How many in the pool community have to ask “ what game are you playing?” If they see a one pocket game? Many. But it’s good to introduce them to it. —- responding to Teddy KGB above.

    Lambros Contact?

Aside from regular problems with “cue maker time” the quality of production cues is very good. I admire some of the customs, but the ones I had I just didn’t love. The ones that I admire I can’t seem to get comfortable with the cost. And if I pulled the trigger on something too expensive I might...
