Love the 8 pointer! There are a lot of kikel fans, and his cues play great. I have a one of 2- technially 1 of 1 since they have different pins. It plays awesome, as do yours i'm sure. Dave does go off board with wood combos, i think that turns some people away. More for us!

I think it depends on what you are looking for. I 've seen some "big" cues, SW, TAD, HALEY, SCRUGGS- all with a flaw or two that were noticable. Does that mean they don't know what they're doing? Please...They are all built by masters of their trade. If you want a museum piece, then it's not...

As a newbie myself, i decided to shorten the rack to start. I only rack 10 balls when i practice, starting with a break ball. This takes out some of the congestion, and allows me to see some things on the table, and to see patterns easier. When i warm up a bit, i go to a full rack. It allows me...

While i enjoy fast cloth and rails more, it can also get you into trouble. Balls roll into unlooked for clusters, you can roll out of position, etc. I don't know about easier, but it is a fun challenge!
