Went to a remodeled pool hall today, 13.50 per hour?

When that place first opened pool was free. Players that got into matches were supposed to kickback a portion to the house. The dollar a game and the change machine on the wall came later. I did not understand how that was going to work out. I played there a few times.

Do you carry your own cue ball to pool halls??

Yes. I even have a separate case for it that clips onto my cue case. Here's why and how to check it for yourself. Poolroom cueballs are smaller than regulation size. The older the ball, the more it is off. Cueballs get dirtier, more chalk on them, than the rest of the balls. Chalk is...

    Dime Radius or Nickel Radius?

Penny. Had friend make me a tip file out of PVC with a perfect penny radius. The problem I always had with a dime is it flattens out too much too soon. I was always fooling with it trying to keep it just right. A penny has the arc closer to a dime and maintains its shape far longer...

why the hell do people call a cue a monster or hits a ton !!! , that just turns me off . any reason

I raised that issue with Dr Dave in a thread years ago. We did the calculations and a cue driven by a human will never hit a ton. The best it will do is 486 lbs. BTW, I have a cue for sale. It's pretty ugly and hits 486 lbs. :)

Why the new 1 pocket rule of ball made on break, re-rack at Derby City?

The break is already an advantage. The break plus a ball plus more balls they will probably make skews the game too much.

    New shaft from OB

It's called Kiel wood. They have been around for a while. I have one made by Diveney. Prather sells the blanks. I also had one made from one of those. I did not like the way it turned out. I am still using the Diveney one. I first heard about it as being what Justin Bergman was using...

Situation - You Make the Call

It is my understanding that a safe resulting in pocketing a ball is never implied. It must always be called.

Now that you mention it, I wonder where I put the short table adapter. I only use mine on big tables.

I heard a story about a young Mike Sigel asking Crane to practice one day. Crane ran 246 then played him safe. :D

The pro model comes in what looks like a big black rifle case that makes people in the pool hall jump and say yo, WTF is that, when you walk in with it. :D

    Break Training Devices

If you use it for a week, then it is pricey. If you use it for years, not so much. Shane Van Boening used it. I'm sure there are a few used ones around you could pick up.

How (not) to move a 7' Diamond table...

Not sure why you did that. Diamond ProAms and barboxes are designed to be flipped on the side onto a special transport cart. I owned 2 Pro Ams and that is exactly what we did to move them. That is how Diamond installers move them. Here is a video from Diamond on how to do it...
