Where is the center of the CB?

Exactly! You can't hit the center of the cue ball. It's way too deep in the middle, more than an inch or so. I just hit out on the edge and have had excellent results. Your results may vary. The game is the teacher!

Some Questions About Cases and Leather Work

Flowers. Floral designs are traditional and pretty. Which is harder to draw? Rectangle, triangle, diamond, lightning bolt or flower. Sort of a demonstration of skill. Why do cue makers do veneered points? Not functionality for sure. Shows their skill and are pretty. Sharp and even shows more...

    Three Ball

Tre ball. My idea is break hard, squatting the cue ball with a stop shot. Straight down middle of table or cue is flying. Balls rebound back into cue ball and hopefully go sideways. I made two ones in a row one time!! Everybody quit! Balls always racked in line. Four or better to win. One tie...

JAMAICA JOES AUG 23- 24 wHO WON ????

Hitch. You could be right about that. I wasn't around either much as I was always doing that work thing. Hitch just seemed not as approachable, but I only knew him in his later years. Driller was at the tourney but didn't play. Eddie Carver frequents JJs almost daily.

JAMAICA JOES AUG 23- 24 wHO WON ????

Herman Herman Croix is an older gentleman, not sure how old, but getting around well. Still hits balls every day and seems to be at JJs daily. I had lunch with him and his old pal Buddy Hall at Tunica. Not by design as they just needed a place to sit. LOL. He didn't play with Mickey Mantle...

    Grinding

Positivity Yes on the positive. I've only been hanging on here a few years and probably been in a few pissing contests, but no more. AZ got me on to my first true custom, a DZ and about a year ago a Tucker! New Tucker! How lucky is that? AZ has altered my stroke which I never would have...

    Grinding

My small stump grinding business took me to three pool players homes today. second time I have done three poolplayers in a row! Networking I guess. One was cuemaker Jim Ingram from OKC. After finishing his stump he asked if I would like to see his shop. I somehow found time to take a short tour...

Who is the #1 most in demand cue maker in the world today?

Tucker! Rarer than hens teeth. Talk about bang for your buck! And the greatest thing of all is I have one!! Purple heart full splice hoppe bumper less. I don't need to understand the science of building a great cue, that's Murrys job. Playability right out of the box. No transition period to...

Need advice on a new cue

Cue Depending on where you live of course, try and support a local cue maker or at least consider his cues. Many pool halls can order production cues and you help them keep the doors open. Best option is go to BCA Vegas event and test drive lots of cues! For a custom I would point you to Bob...

Someone stole Chip Comptons cues and case at the Olathe ,KS event.

Double Dipper! Stealing a mans tools is low. I also used to take my first hi- dollar cue to the bathroom. McDermott d-15 with two extra notched diamonds $65 plus the $275 initial cost was big money for me back then! LOL. Somebody needs to figure out some type of LOJACK for cues. Watched Chip...

What's the rule on this 8-ball shot?

No foul. Not a foul. You win. Good shooting. The rules your opponent had were in his head. Because they reside in in head, they are hard to access for anyone but him.

I feel like a thread to uplift is needed today!

Tapping on the window! Ladies never entered the snooker hall. Tapped on the glass and hubby would step outside and take his tongue lashing. Spittoons on each side of each table. No pool tables. Snooker only. I never played on a pool table until I was of age to enter a bar.

    Question regarding 8-Ball team play

Geezerville! Walk softly in Geezerville! You can be banished quickly. I stopped going to my Senior Center because they only play one game. Scotch eight ball with one and fifteen going in opposite side pockets. No ball to a rail, pushing of course. Craziest rule was shooting your one or fifteen...

Diamonds are Popular Tables, What Table is Most Popular Right Now?

Cover all the bases. I assume this will be a large room. Diamond bb for league and tourneys, maybe 12 or 16. Three 9 ft. diamonds for one hole and action. A few GC 9s for those folks. Throw in some Valleys for the bangers and kids. One 3 cushion table. Two 10 ft. Snooker tables. And the biggest...

Carom 9 ball is it real?

Polock pool! Also called backwards pool. Learn caroms but also learn how to purposely scratch. Learn how to scratch should learn how not to! Nice long projected game, lots of play for your quarters. Cue spots up when scratched. Secret is to park cue in a corner and make multiple balls softly...
