A Purple Five Ball Makes No Sense to Me

This thread is very interesting to me. My first set were Centennials. I still love them and think they are beautiful! A great tradition for sure. That said, I like MANY other color and style sets for no other reason than it makes the table more fun. If I'm going to go to a tournament, I...

Clean Gleem Polisher Review from an owner...

Well... after what I hoped was a very positive review for the CG machine and even my cool suggestions for how to decorate it with awesome stickers, they sold out within 2 days and the website has said "Out of Stock" ever since! :) I must be a really good salesman LOL... either way, I hope all...

Anyone have experience w Viking Seige CF Shaft?

You guys are all just a bunch of jealous haters! I love my 20 year old Viking! :) Be sure and zoom in to appreciate all of those beautiful blue rings that match my daughter's eyes! The picture is actually poor quality. It's a really beautiful cue in person even more so.

Got my table in the house today.

Congratulations on the baby on the way! Hope you enjoy the table in your home. I have had one for many years and my daughter was raised playing pool!

Anyone have experience w Viking Seige CF Shaft?

LOL :-) I totally hear you! I actually have a 20 year old Viking F-50 that I LOVE that I had made with the Sapphire Blue Toilet Seat points and rings! I thought it was beautiful then, and I still think it is today!

    Penguin Balls

They are $60 per set at penguin-brands.com and they look like the usual cheap set that comes with a Chinese made table. At least pay $40 more for a set of Dynaspheres would be my thought

Anyone have experience w Viking Seige CF Shaft?

That's the word... filament wound. Of course every company claims theirs is the best or unique. Is there any real difference between filament wound and flag wrapped in how they play? If I buy one will it make me as good as Efren? :-)

Anyone have experience w Viking Seige CF Shaft?

Their video on their site is impressive and they claim a unique CF construction technology. Anyone played with one or able to compare to others?

Finally made the jump to an LD shaft

Congratulations on the new LD shaft and results! Maybe someday for me, but I have been playing with my same Viking standard shaft on my customized F50 for 20 years. I'm so used to it that I fear changing would destroy my game! Guess I will just take this one to the coffin with me. :-)

I always enjoy learning from you. Thank you for your contributions Dr. Dave. I can't tell you how many of your videos I have watched more than 10 times!

    Clean balls

I suspected you might be the type who would prefer dirty balls. :-) Over the years, I have accumulated 15 or so sets and I like them all so I play them all and switch out regularly. It just makes the table more fun. Pool halls are fine, there just isn't one within an hour of here.

    Clean balls

I like for the balls to be clean when I play. Simply because they always play CONSISTENTLY. I change out the balls at least weekly, and sooner if there is a lot of play. Each time they need to be cleaned, or weekly at least, I clean the outgoing set and put them away as I put a fresh set on...

    Taom Chalk

How can this be true on a masse' or jump or other shot where the tip touches the table? My concern is that if this chalk DOES manage to get on the table, is it staining of the cloth? Does it come up with a vacuum? Brush? Water? All of the above? I would really like to hear the answer to...

    Has the Parade Passed By

I can usually run 2 of 10 racks in 8 ball, and 3 or 4 of 10 in 9 ball. Not necessarily in a row. If I break, I might win a rack or two if I am really on my game, but I have no faith I could ever string together a win against any of the folks I recently watched on the live feed from Al at...

What new Cue ball should I buy?

The blue measles ball looks great! The old ball needs to be cleaned by hand with Aramith cleaner and elbow grease and it will clean up very well. Dawn doesn't really do a very good job on pool balls in my experience. Aramith does wonders.

    Discussion anyone?

I have found that throughout most areas of my life, the harder I work at something, the "luckier" I get.

    felt cleaner

We have a Miele vacuum for the house that has 6 settings of airflow. On the LOWEST setting, with an upholstery brush attached, it does a great job without ever lifting the cloth or felt depending on who you ask? :-) That said, if you use a horse hair brush, which is a great idea, make sure...
