I have a Z shaft, and I have broken with it almost exclusively for years. At times very hard. Nothing has happened to it. Unless you count the 2 ferrules Ive replaced, and the shaft tenon Ive snapped.

I found muttering to myself quietly didnt work... I found that actually talking to the balls and telling them what I wanted them to do works much better... I also found that they don't hear so well when I whisper... Speaking rather loudly and directly is my prefered method.... LIke this...
