You should make this ball spec tool available for sale, I'm sure there is a market for room owners.... It would sure shut up a bunch of rail birds who don't believe that balls wear down! I play with a set of duramith balls and like the way they look. I don't notice much difference in the way...

This is one I've got waiting for a shaft. It used to be a full splice one piece snooker cue. Now it is a snooker handle :) It was finished typically, but only polished lightly. Customer likes it so it is now a matte finish

I recommend taking it to a cue repairman We have done thousands of tip replacements If you want it done right, in 10 minutes its the best way to go. Doing it yourself can be done too, but its not easy to get a pro job without the right tools. Just my opinion

I don't know that I've seen any house cues with leather wraps..... I don't know what to suggest to make the leather rougher without sacrificing the appearance..... Best bet would be to replace it with a textured wrap or EE I'm sure not the answer you were looking for :(

The best way is to spin the cue or shaft between centers on a lathe.
