    Covering rails with simonis

Pull the cloth tight over the end and put two staples at least one inch from the end. Pull the top towards the end and staple the length. Now here's where I differ from Glen, ever so slightly pull the bottom back the other way and staple. Trim. You're probably pulling too tight as you're used to...

    Stretch Shadows?

I'd like to hear some opinions on this myself. If the problem is pulled too tight, I think that would bend the weave somewhat and cause the ball to have a slight bias towards the rail??? Sounds so incremental that you'd need measuring devices to detect it. I can relate to tomsters dilema...

    Advice for table cloth

You catch on quik dont'cha? He' s pulling your leg. You and your buddy's just want to have a little fun right? Buy 6 foot of a cheaper cloth other than Titan. Sounds like you won't notice the difference. Your balls should measure 2 1/4". You could modify the inside of the table to use a...

    Checking Cushions

Most common is the glue has failed adhering the rubber to the wood. This is an easy fix. Second is the rubber has become hard. Use a fingernail and push on the edge, it should come right back. If not, replace rubber. Third is the rubber is just plain wore out. Worn rubber will have a rounded...

Why are pocket shims so hard?

For wear. Pockets literally take a beating. Look at a worn cloth and notice the holes wearing through from the increased action. Also I don't think you would like the pinball action with just rubber sides.

    rail bolt torqe

Yes, it depends. It goes by feel for me being as how it's wood. Generally speaking, tighten till you feel the wood start to compress (very tight snug) then 1/2 turn more. I've never seen any torque specs published. I'd be interested to see that also.

    Recovering Side Pocket Rails

Lol, i knew you'd have a heyday with that one. As I said earlier, I wasn't happy with it myself and as eluded to in my came to the conclusion comment, I won't be trying it again, it was an experiment. I guess I'm just not a big fan of the Christmas present method. I have not seen your dvd but...

    Recovering Side Pocket Rails

Here's a couple examples of my work. On the right is a Valley rail recovered in Championship Invitational cloth. I'm able to stretch the cloth without using the"hospital wrap" as I've seen it called here, I call it the Christmas present wrap. Stretched with no folds is how Valley ships them...
