    Slow Death of pool

So the tangible things you mentioned are installing pool tables in schools, fast food joints and more bars. Let me ask you this, how do you go about doing that? What fast food place is going to give up seating for a pool table? What school is going to pay maintenance on a pool table? What bar is...

US Open Worst First Round Draw

What is your point? Would you rather they use a seeding system like at the NCAA Bball tourny? With random draw this is going to happen in almost every tourny.

team-mates that tell you how to play

What is your skill level? Remember that if a teammate is giving you advice they are trying to help you. Also remember that at the end of the day it is your choice what shot you play. You are not obligated to play the shot they suggest. I will say that as a captain I have had frustration with...

    Mosconi Cup tickets

At $95 a seat I am a little curious as well. I am interested but more details would be nice. Does that include a meal? It is a easier sell if they do.

had an aha ! moment tonight

I think i know the bridge you are talking about. It looks kinda like a golf ball retreiver for when you hit into a water hazard? Anyways, I have always been a advocate of the bridge and I never understood why people don't use it. I remember once I was playing in a bar tourny and I had a shot...

    1st time that ever happened

I completely agree with this. Couple matches ago I played against a guy who won the lag by a hair. Breaks and fails to make a ball. Hooks the cue ball leaving me no shot. He gets BIH and runs 7 balls and plays safe. I make a good hit but he gets out. Second game he breaks and doesn't make a...

    I HATE Bunting

I haven't read the whole thread so I apologize if this has already been mentioned. If you really want to stroke your shots buy a oversized cue ball. Even with fast cloth you really need to drill it to generate a lot of spin. This one is only $5...

    Ronnie O'Sullivan vs Raj Hundal?

I think Allison Fisher would be a good example of snooker player turned pro pool player. If I am not mistaken she is in the BCA HOF...... I don't mind that we don't see eye to eye on this subject. I just know that after playing pool for years and years and then trying snooker I had a high run...

    Ronnie O'Sullivan vs Raj Hundal?

I don't think its murky at all. Snooker is a tougher game than pool. Plain and simple. You have a much lower margian or error in snooker. Ask yourself this, why do pro snooker players move over to pool and have huge success but not once has a pro pool player become a pro snooker player?

$200 for a billiard university diploma!!

If you don't like the idea don't get the diploma. You can still practice and enjoy the game without it.

    Ronnie O'Sullivan vs Raj Hundal?

My point was that snooker table conditions are so much more difficult than a pool table. Just look at the pockets. On a pool table the ball can hit the side of the pocket and because of the way it is cut the ball will still drop. On a snooker table the ball needs to enter the pocket clean or you...

    Ronnie O'Sullivan vs Raj Hundal?

Snooker is a lot more difficult than pool. Set up a rack of 9ball on a snooker table. Tell me if running is out is more difficult than on a pool table.
