I think I will just get the 4 day pass for myself and 2 days for my girlfriend. She can go shopping or something

    Mosconi Cup tickets

Ok, so days 1-3 happen for sure and the 4th day could be cut short or may not happen?

    Mosconi Cup tickets

I am going to attend the Mosconi Cup this year. I see on ticketmaster they have individual days or the 4 day package. I don't think I can go all 4 days. What are the best days? I was thinking 12/2 and 12/3... the first two days. For some reason I thought in previous years it was only 3 days. Any...

    Drills

I have this same problem at league. I want to do some drills but it just isn't possible most of the time. When I get my turn on the practice table I don't try to play to win. I play shots that I want to practice (i.e. playing inside spin on a shot you might not normally just so you can get the...

Joss Pool Cues: A Labor of Love

IMO you get the most bang for your buck with a Joss cue.

Looking for information on Buddy Hall's "strategic blast" tactic

I have heard of this strategy before. You run at the pool table like it is a joust match. Hold your cue up and contact the cue ball while running full speed. Sometimes a war cry will help for effect. Hope this helps.

Japan Open pocket sizes, are they nuts?

It was a normal pool hall. I play in the US and on the bar box the majority of the time. I had some problems at first. The small pockets were actually helping me compensate my aim properly when applying left/right spin. If I could play on those tables all the time I totally would.

Japan Open pocket sizes, are they nuts?

I am in Vietnam on work and finally had a chance to shoot some pool. The equipment was good but really tough. The pocket size was SMALL

    Help with cue value

Isn't the whole point of this thread to get an idea of the value....

    How to play better pool.

Building muscle memory is really important and the best way to do so is playing a lot of pool. However, if you want to learn, for example, how to play high inside with a stun shot you are better off learning it from a book or instructor because going only by trial and error will take much longer.

    Question about safety play

It depends on the game. In 9ball you usually need to control both the OB and cueball. In 8ball you can get away with strickly controlling the cueball in some cases.

Can O' Worms Better Left Unopened?

Funny, I was thinking the same thing when I read the original post. I would offer him $50 for it.

    Bar room rules. HaHa

Shooting from the kitchen after a scratch is total BS. It allows Dbags to scratch on purpose and gain an advantage. No thanks. I would rather just not play at that point.

    Jacoby cues

I currently own a segmented wrapless jacoby. It has 8 points and some sick ring work. It was my player for a long time and I still use it on occasion. I strapped a OB2 shaft on it. My personal feeling on Jacoby is they are underrated as customer cue makers.

    Mid Range $$$ Production Cues

hmmm, most bang for the buck is a interesting question. I think we can remove Schon, Mezz and Predator from that list. Baseline cues from those companies are somewhat expensive. I mean you are talking $400-$500 for a sneaky pete. I think a low end Joss, Viking or Lucasi are going to give you...

Someone stole Chip Comptons cues and case at the Olathe ,KS event.

Another option (and probably a little cheaper) is to take off the rubber bumper at the end of the cue and write your initials on the inside.

    All you Johnny lovers

Let me get this straight, you are faulting Johnny Archer for trying to help Bonus Ball launch. Even if he wasn't optimistic about the chances he still was a participant and was trying to help it succeed. If anything that should show his determination to help the game of pool in general. Let me...
