Laughing about the general opinion of "new posters" playing abilities

What could someone possibly "go through" on an internet forum that you can "only imagine?" "Oh no! Look at the little letters on the screen! They're insulting me! They don't respect me! *cry*" Did the "old boys network" reach through your computer screen and slap your face? Did a "veteran...

    How often?

A good buddy of mine once told me "I get better when I don't practice." I used to think this was silly, but then in dawned on me, if you never play, you never lose! In fact, before I ever picked up a cue, I was the greatest player in the world. Not even Effing Reyes could beat me, because I...

Laughing about the general opinion of "new posters" playing abilities

Two obervations: 1. Anyone who lists their APA ranking gets a spot from me. 2. You care WAY too much what a bunch of faceless internet forum posters think of your "skill." :)

    Randy G's Pool School Review

There is a difference, however, between your analogy of NFL/MLB coaches and these billiard instructors. There are no examples (that I am aware of) of pro or pro level Football or Baseball players that reached elite level without organized instruction or coaching. In pool, on the other hand...

A Question For The Peanut Gallery

This is a good point. When I have an especially lazy student, I recommend gloves to them for this very reason! This philosophy can be applied to the rest of your life as well. Just carry a pack of latex gloves in your pocket and you won't have to worry about washing your hands after...

A Question For The Peanut Gallery

Similarly, why would a snooker player use a Sir Joseph when you can use an Epidermis? Discuss.

A Question For The Peanut Gallery

Gee, you kind of have me confused, Mosconiac. You seem to be sarcastically implying that technology such as gloves don't improve the game of cueists. In fact, you seem to find it laughable that people obsess over little things like the amount of friction between the cue shaft and the bridge...

A Question For The Peanut Gallery

Probably because snooker players in general aren't smart enough to understand the benefits of gloves (see my posts in the referenced thread). If they wore gloves, they might reach the level of play achieved in pool!

What Are The Best Gloves ?

Unfortunatly the Dutch are falling behind in bumps, and in all other cue sports. In fact, apart from the few old-schoolers left around, I've never met ANYONE from Holland that can hold a cue.

What Are The Best Gloves ?

Thanks! While we don't agree about gloves , we do agree on this! IMHO, Bumper pool combines the best elements of snooker, carom, balkaline, one hole, chess, poker, and Russian billiards. Pics of my home room coming soon!!!!!! I LOVE THIS GAME!

What Are The Best Gloves ?

It depends on the game and the conditions. - When it's really hot (if air conditioning is broken) or if you're playing outside, try a thin, light colored glove (white or pink). You can also write little notes of encouragement or quick shot advice on a glove like this, improving your overall...

Shane Van Called Me Last Night

We love having classy gents like Zach representing Dallas. Yay! Honestly, there must be better ways to drum up action than getting on the internet and yelling out your ass for players YOU DON'T EVEN SPEAK FOR. BTW, I'll match up with any of the players Zach mentioned in bumper-pool. EVEN!
