    G10 Pins?

The feedback it gives is the biggest advantage. The G10 glues perfectly with epoxy and becomes part of the wood. You do not get any of the "dampening" that you would get from a metal pin, as mentioned earlier by others. The other advantage is this: When you lean your Cog against the table like...

Somebody once told me that about my wife...

    Stripped threads

This will of course work, but will likely change the hit. Most people won't know the difference though. Just keep that in mind is all.

    Mezz Wavy joint

I didn't read the whole thread so this may have been commented on already. The one thing I can tell you is that there is probably nobody in the country that has the tap for that cue. You will not be able to get the shaft repaired if it strips, you will not be able to get a new shaft made, and...

MPI or XTC softest ferrule material?

    I think MPI is softer.

1.5" X 1.5" X 30" paduck dry ready to use for sale or trade.

I tried that on my wife. It didn't work so well. Maybe it was the wrong kind of wood?:grin:

    Ferrule Replacement

I have never heard or experienced that with the Elforyn. Atlas says the MPI is being discontinued. Ivorine 3 is back. How it compares to what was in the past I don't know. I like the Juma too. It is cheap and durable, and looks nice. Genuine ivory speaks for itself as long as it is good...

    Juma Ferrule Chalk resistant?

polish it out to a 2000 grit without heating it up. Then use an automotive buffing compound, and then cue wax. You have to polish it so that the surface is finer than the chalk. If you do not, chalk will stick to it, but you will still be able to clean it off. If you polish it out fine enough...

cue too heavy w/out weight bolt..?

I don't know if this has been brought up, but a plug bumper or threaded bumper could also be used. Then you can bore as deep as you want into the back and not fill it. There is a big-name supplier that sells a plug bumper for a .625 hole or a 3/4-10 threaded bumper as well (not sure of posting...

shipping a cue with Ivory across the pond

The country you are shipping to is irrelevant. It is illegal to export ivory from the U.S. without proper paperwork wihich is not easy to get. Avoid this at all costs.

Rep must not mean anything !!!

Okay, I got all that, but what the heck is a GRAY rep? I got one of those from someone and the comment was not very explanatory. (Actually there was no comment...)

What is this joint made out of?

Sorry, missed that (though I don't know how). Second post may be correct. Is there any grain or weave to that material at all? Second thought may be cue ball phenolic, yellowed with age.

    Mooring mediums mushrooming

Any of the sources in the link I posted will all be "bunk". There may be some places in the U.S. that may still have genuine Mooris. There are plenty of good sources that will simply tell you when they are out and will not try to get bogus ones just to have them.

    Mooring mediums mushrooming

What the link I posted shows is that there are several Chinese manufacturers making and selling knock-offs. I am quite sure there are many more. The tips in the link will NOT be genuine. Many of these tips are making it to this country and being sold as "the real thing". Many of these...
