Geomtry or Physics, what's more important?

What he said. When you consider the physics rule:angle of deflection = angle of impact, Geometry no longer plays a primary role, it is a sub-category of physics. You then have to add in your other variables like cue ball/object ball spin, etc. At that point, geometry is merely a tool to aid in...

Should LBM be the most popular break ferrule material?

LBM is not harder than G10. Aegis 2 is the same as LBM, but rolled and molded and less likely to split.

    Weight Bolt

This may sound like Mickey Mouse engineering, but you can make the hole deeper than you need for the weight bolt, get some lead fishing weights that weigh enough combined with the weight bolt, make sure you have room for all of it, and drop them in with some epoxy to keep them from rattling and...

    Reccomended glue for brass/steel joints.

There is nothing stronger than DP 420 epoxy. You won't be able to heat it up and remove it for a repair if it gets bent though, you will have to machine it out.

Ferrule Hardness: The results are in! (and interesting!)

Super XTC. Inexpensive ferrule material sold by one of the larger suppliers (according to rules can only be mentioned in pm's). You can find it by googling it.

    Funny pic/gif thread...

These posts were by far the funniest $&!t ever posted on any forum anywhere. I would love to see them all again from the beginning, but alas, that thread was deleted and with it, all that comedic gold is now lost forever.

what not to do as a newb cue builder

okay. How about this When someone else repairs one of your crappy cues that you messed up and sands the joint down to expose the Sharpie billets, don't try to scream "It's a conspiracy! They did this and set me up!"

What is a "Short Spliced Point"?

This would be your loss. Dave is first class as well as Dick Neighbors. And they don't know me at all. However, I have talked to too many of their happy customers and been humbled by plenty of their work to never question their integrity or ability.

Ferrule hardness Pt. 2 - Ivory, etc

I would be interested in the results for Walrus tusks (teeth). They seem to be harder and have more of a "TINK" sound.
