Modifying a Revo uni-loc quick release...

Radial pins are NOT 10 tpi. You will have two completely different thread pitches. This will not work well.

    Mezz United joint Pin???

If that is the case, the 5/16-14 insert can be reamed and chased again with a tap and should work.

    Finishing Blunder!

Get away from CA finishes. CA WILL kill you. Not if but when.

    5/16 x 14 Tap Drill query

Cueman has been in the business as long or longer than anyone. You may find other ways to do things, but you can't go wrong with his advice.

    5/16 x 14 Tap Drill query

Everybody has their own machining practices. This would be my personal choice. This is not to say that .250" is wrong by any means. What works for some may or may not for others. I will suggest making dry run assemblies on test dowels to see what works best for you before you go into a cue.

    Sanding mandrel problems

I hope your area is very well ventilated when using that CA finish. Bad things happen.

    Vera-Argentine Lignum Vitae

Also used as propeller bearings in large ships. "Dense" does not always = "stiff-hitting". To me, it's a very ugly wood. And yes, too much in a cue will be very heavy.

    Another Name for Juma?

I think what he's looking for is more along the lines of what type, i.e. acrylate, styrene, urethane, etc.

    Ferrules and radial pins

No vendor names allowed here I guess, but there is a main distributor that has them available. They aren't blue though.

    Juma

I think they might have lightened it up a few years back, but overall the Juma does not change much batch to batch from what I have seen. It is not color uv stable though and will darken over time.

Ferrule question, what am I doing wrong?

That doesn't look like Juma at all. you sure it's not XTC or something else? Looks too white. Tool or post likely too loose, height could be off, feed is definitely too fast. Or like Mike Webb said, ferrule maybe sticking out too far from the chuck? You don't want to allow too much deflection...

    1/2" Capped Ferrule. Thoughts?

LBM is strip molded. An air pocket like that, if it's as bad as it looks, could cause even LBM to fail in my opinion. Besides, LBM isn't even made any more. Aegis 2 is the closest you will find. You are correct, it is hard to make an assessment without being able to pick at it up close and...

    Wavy-thread shaft...??

Wavy tap has a more complex groove. Yours is not correct. It might work, but it isn't the real thing.

    Wavy-thread shaft...??

No way does he have a Wavy tap. Harry Krugelstein has one. He can make a shaft for you.

how to scuff up a phenolic tip......

it's a break shaft/tip. One shot is all you need. That being said, I would rather use something like the Samsara j/b tips.

    Needing a birdseye maple shaft

It will also play irregularly, it will be overly expensive, and prone to crack in half at any of the birdseyes. There is no predicting them. But it's not my money.
