    The Rolling Stones and Snooker

Several years ago The Stones stopped here in Memphis and my friend lent his snooker table for them, and when they were done they were supposed to autograph the cloth, but when he got the table back no cloth or autographs but the table was fine.

    Southwest

Ive heard this From what I understand they dont core any of their woods and maybe over time this may lead to warping of butts. Also Ive talked to cuemakers and Ive heard that weather effects cue and others say it doesnt. Who knows for sure?

Custom Cues: What's Hot, What's Not

you guys are crazy! Determining wether or not a cuemaker is hot or not is totally subjective. Ive never met a cuemaker that didnt sell everything he made. One more thing call one of these not hot cuemakers and see if you can get a cue in a month or two, not gonna happen.

    tv shows with pool

I saw this... I saw this episode of Law and Order once where (the late) Jerry Orbach was questioning a guy in a pool hall and took his cue and ran the table. He was known to be a fan and a good player. One more trivial thing I was watching the Cowboy Bebop the movie (anime series) and there...

    Buying First Cue

Here in Memphis I dont know anyone who uses a snooker cue to play golf, snooker whatever and they do OK. But I wouldnt recommend a skinny shaft for a novice player, also what the heck is potting?

    Buying First Cue

go for the Joss Joss is a great entry level cue. Dont sweat the 13.25 because between that and 13 you can barely tell a difference. FYI with the thicker shaft its easier to pocket balls, because the skinnier the shaft the more you have to pinpoint your aim. Also, Im not certain but I dont...

    why do they do this?

Im just curious that when you look at cues on dealers websites they have certain cues that under the price they say ASK or PRICE ON REQUEST. I mean they have no problem showing a real nice cue with price tag over 5000 but when it comes to cues like SW, Boti, Bushka, Searing, Gina they dont want...

To those that would have you belive....

I hear ya Im with you Tons o Fun. People here forget this is like a pool hall in the sense that there is a mixture of different characters, opinions, and egos. Because if you cant laugh at yourself while you are laughing at someone else then whats the point? Sometimes people in this place...

    Paul mottey vs. James white

opinions on Mottey Ive had my Mottey for over a year, it took me 7 months to get it. It has 3/8 x 10 ivory joint. I shot with it for about 6 months and just like one of the other guys said it was a bit mushy. Remember Paul uses a 9-10in straight taper so its gonna be soft. Now I suppose...

    Envelope Style Cases

Chas Clements makes those, you can find them on his site. But be forwarned he charges 1200 for his, granted they have a lot of tooling but that is still 1200 for a soft case. I would imagine the other case makers (Justis, Whitten, Swift, etc) could make one considering they have the means but...

    Jump Cues, Jump Butts...

try this I would recommend you buy a jump cue because if you use one of your playing shafts you may not get the reaction you are looking for because your shaft taper may not be stiff enough to jump easily. I use an el cheapo Lucasi jump cue. It has a real thick taper and its fairly easy to...

    Box cues

Thats a good question. Ive seen a lot of these box cues around the internet and was surprised at the price. I also like that style, so currently Bill McDaniel is making one for me. Its going to be nothing but ebony and ivory with veneered boxes of ivory and a total of about 30 inlays. Heres...
