I sold 3 of my ob classic shafts. I was getting older and wanted to try some cf shafts. Bought a Cuetec cynergy and a Jacoby black. I like the Jacoby better because it dont have a clunk sound when I shoot. Otherwise they shoot about the same to me.
I did somewhat the same. Except I went the cheap way out. I bought some square unistrut washers .Offset the holes for the crosslide and tapped the hole in the middle of the washer for the qctp. Now I have enough travel to actually use it.
Classic and pro had sectionals fuzed but had the white ferrule.Then came the + series,same white ferulle and more like a tiger shaft (solid sections). After that it was a rez not a revo (which is made by pred)
I have one cue that has a 3/8x10 Mod thread in G-10, !/2 ss joint. I dont shoot well enough to tell the difference between that and all my 5/16 x14 piloted cues.
If your cuelathe is taig based you can order the large headstock from Midamerica for under 300. Or l am sure the large adjustable steady rest is even cheaper.
