    One Pocket

I should have included that you should have good shooting skills and then ask good One Pocket players to play with them. You need good basic skills first. Sorry I neglected that.

    One Pocket

A lot of good suggestions here. What I found that helped me the most and quickly was to play partners One Pocket and your partner was allowed to coach. One drawback is that folks can take too much time talking and that takes the fun out of it.

Need Advice For Refinishing Maple Shaft and Shaft Maintenance

First, I would find out why my shafts are getting dirty. When I have a tip put on, I don't want the shaft or ferrule touched if possible. If it is a good shaft don't ruin it.

    New equipment idea

I'm tired of all the black clothes pool players wear. It looks like they never wash clothes like a road player living out of a van. Look at the post #23. That is a nice bright colored jacket that could be used in pool wearables. Some nice polo shirts would be a welcome addition.

    Using Force Follow

Patrick, I finally had a chance to practice your response in variety of situations...it is unbelievable how easy and accurate it is to calculate in a few seconds. Do you have billiards experience? Thanks again.

    Masse Shot

I went back to the table to work on this and finally got back to moving the cue ball toward the ghost ball 18 inches or so, but also had about 6 inches of forward movement. Later tonight I will place the cue ball closer to the object ball and try a lower cue tip placement to get the draw I want...

    Masse Shot

There are many ways to get position from shooting the 2 ball in the side pocket to shooting the 3 ball in the same side pocket. I am not looking for optional shots. This masse shot comes up from time to time. Many years ago I was proficient at this but it is very difficult for me to get the cue...

    Improvement

I see improvement in two categories...shot making and strategy. This may help in strategy. Many good suggestions here. Improvement usually comes in steps so here's mine. Next time you play and come to a complex pattern. Take a photo...examine it later and see if there is a better way or if...

    The Great Break Discussion.

Straight pool...make sure you have a tight rack especially in the back row. One pocket ...make sure the side row is tight on the side opposite of breaking.

    Aiming very close cuts

I have success with these shots by placing my cue over the center of the object ball and in line with the center of the pocket, thus finding the most distant point from the pocket on the object ball. Then do a parallel shift with the cue until it is centered over the cue ball. The far point from...

Utilizing peripheral vision during the final stroke

As part of my PSR I use peripheral vision to feel the shot as close as I can. I aim to the center of the pocket, then aim to the right of the pocket, then aim to the left of the pocket, then back to the center. If needed, I repeat the process on difficult shots to refine the accuracy. Then I...
