    Cues in strange places

Back in the good ole' days before everyone had the fancy interweb and google machine you could pick up some real bargains in pawn shops. Now they want double retail.

    The natural angle...

Leaving yourself natural angles and working the rails will make the game so much easier for you. Not to mention likely bring your speed up a notch or two. It will take practice but its worth it.

    What Cue to Purchase?

That question gets asked here a lot. You will get a thousand different answers. Its like asking 'what kind of car should I drive?' The answer is no one knows but you. It's all a matter of personal taste. Ask around locally, see if other players will let you test drive their cues, most will if...

Largest Ivory "crush" in US history... what a waste, IMO.

The government should be good at running a brothel. They have been screwing us for over a hundred years.

Largest Ivory "crush" in US history... what a waste, IMO.

I don't really understand the demand for ivory. Synthetic and other natural materials looks just as good and are more durable. There is no scientific proof for ivory use in the medicinal sense. Greed and ignorance rule the day.

GPPA League by Mike Sigel: $250,000 first prize and $1 million guaranteed

The premise is like poker. Fast games, potential for big money and anyone has a chance. The way it was explained to me is that its like facing a run out player every time you step to the table. Lots of offense, fast play and lots of action. Mike is making some sort of big announcement Monday...

    Favorite cue tip?

Milk duds from pooldawg8 are the best I've ever used. Soft feel, medium hit and holds the shape FOREVER. Miscues are rare and juicing the CB has never been easier. Truly the best. I have given several away to friends and they all rave about them.

Community unpaid work! AZB TEAM!! IMPORTANT!

I've offered to help moderate many times in the last several years. Never got any response. I've moderated on many other other forums and consider myself a fair guy on all sides. Oh well.

The Glove - greatest invention since chalk!

I have to admit I sort of chuckled at glove shooters for many years. I considered them easy marks back in the day. I recently started playing again and bought a glove at a tournament six months ago and I love it. Only problem is I wear them out rather quickly. Maybe I'll try a different brand.

American legs weak on foreign soil? Or simply not good enough?

That's the same complaint the Brits made during the Revolutionary War and we all know how that turned out.

American legs weak on foreign soil? Or simply not good enough?

I heard the French had a strong team but accidentally surrendered out of habit before arriving at the tournament.

American legs weak on foreign soil? Or simply not good enough?

I thought Europe was an 80's hair band that sang "The Final Countdown" Had no idea they were that talented at pool playing.

    What's your move?

I would play the 5 in the corner and leave myself straight on the 7 so I could power draw it three rails and impress the ladies. I would then miscue getting no draw but still lucking in the 7. So now I have no shape so I whack the 8 as hard as possible sending the 9 thirteen rails then into...

America Must Train Its Young Players

I had a video game system (Atari 2600) but my dad bought an 8' Brunswick on an auction when I was ten. I think kids would play pool but how many of them has a pool table in their house? Not many. I was also fortunate enough to get taken in by a top player when I was 15 to start traveling...

America Must Train Its Young Players

Our local YMCA has a few decent tables and I do see kids playing pool. I've had thoughts of doing some group lessons for the kids but I've not done it yet.

America Must Train Its Young Players

Pool tables take up lots of real estate and generates little money in return. He would be better off in a business sense to get rid of all the pool tables and fill that space with seating for drinkers. Sorry for the reality, I don't like it either.

What do you think about my speed ?

First of all good job on getting out. Shot #1 - why not a simple follow shot trailing down to the end rail leaving a shot to the right hand corner for the second ball. Shot #3 Left you straight in and near a rail forcing you to jack up and use an odd stroke. Shot #4 Was long and straight...
