    Need a new tip recommendation!!

Is the same installer putting them on? Are they using proper techniques. Just wondering. Trimming at to high of speeds. Sanding to high of speeds and too much sanding. Same for burnishing. All have been known to cause tip separation.

    ultraskin tip install

In explaining your technique you stated that you rub your glue around. Don't do that. That starts the curing before you touch the tip to the ferrule. Put a nice tall drop of CA onto your tip. Then place the tip onto the ferrule. I sand my tips, then prime with a drop of thin CA. Let it...

    Porper B lathe bearings ??

As soon as I read Willee's question. I knew Michael would be chiming in. As a Model B owner I always look forward to learning more on my lathe. Not necessarily fixing it. But learning. Michael you seem to be the resident expert. Thank You, Jim

    Help identify cue makers logo

Thank you for the information. There was a cue on an auction site. I knew it was a decent cue. Just not how decent. It was a hustler style with a leather wrap and 2 shafts. It was the one I had picture of above. I was out bid on the cue. But learned a bit about Showcase Cues. Again thank...

    Help identify cue makers logo

Wow that was fast. Any information on the maker? I did a quick Google search and a few threads showed up on here. Looks like they went out of business in 2009. Pictures of other Shoecase cues would be appreciated.

20 year complete cue shop for sale

My condolences on your son. A person should not have to deal with something as horrible as that. While I would love to purchase your shop I wouldn't have room. Good luck with your sale and God bless you. Jim

    Pad under tip

The real resons for pads I'm surprised that no one has talked of the original purpose of a pad. Pads were originally used on ivory ferrules. They are meant as a buffer, to stop the ivory ferrule's grain from splitting. As the tip flattens out, it expands in surface area (mushrooming). With a...

    Closest thing to moori original?

Not a cue maker. TNT Pro Max Medium Pig Skin Layered Cue Tips. These are the closest I have found. When carving them up you would think you are carving up a Moori.

    Kamui tip wear

I agree with Joey. While not a cue maker I do install Kamui tips. I also use Kamui tips. My last tip lasted over 1 1/2 years. I do not scuff or pick. I do use a version of Kamui's Gator Grip. Just dimpling the tip every other session of play. I play about 15 hours per week and use Kamui...

    Glue for non-leather tips

Scotch-Weld DP420 I use Scotch-Weld DP420 for all my break tips. I drill 5 very small shallow holes in the bottoms of the tips. Make sure you take a tooth pick or something and work the epoxy into the holes. This epoxy likes heat, so keep it warm (70 degrees) when using. Let cure for 24...

    Sandpaper?

One of my larger expenses for cue repair is sandpaper. The only reliable source I’ve found is the auto repair stores at $7-$9 per pack of 5 sheets. Does anyone have some good sources of sandpaper they can share via PM? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk PM sent
