    Leather Wrap Seam

If I find one, I doubt it will be the right diameter. Maybe it would shrink if I wet it down?? I'll try the roller idea. Up to now I've only used my thumbs to press and massage it in place. Thanks.

    Leather Wrap Seam

I need some advice on making my seams invisible. My seam doesn’t 'look' bad, but I can feel it. It feels like one side is higher than the other, but I measured the leather prior to installing and am confident that it was uniform the entire length. I’m using a Wrap Magic to make the...

I did some testing on the glues we build with.

Was clamp pressure added during the curing of the glues?

If you must drill, slow it down to about 350 rpms and keep the chips out of the hole. When I drill acrylic, I keep a steady flow of compressed air in the hole. It also serves to reduce the heat. I used to have the same issue with Diamondwood too.

I went to high school and undergraduate there. Lawton is a tough town.

    We are going non smoking.

Here's one. I quite league a few years ago because my eyes couldn't take the smoke. My contacts would just burn and I couldn't see well enought with glasses. North Carolinia just went non-smoking, so last week I joined a league. Just to be clear, I don't support state sponsored mandates...

    Copyrighting

    1. A new pool league structure sounds like a business method and can be patented. 2. Games can be patented. Aspects of them can be copyrighted and trademarked as well. 3. Rules can be copyrighted. It doesn't stop someone from doing what the rules say, it only protects the embodiment...

    glue for phenolic tip

Ron and others, Mike Gulyassy does hold a patent on a one piece tip/ferrule (US7,097,570). The Stinger?s advertising states it?s protected by patent # US5,262,490. That?s the wrong number, and I?ve pointed it out to them. The correct number is US5,462,490. It may not seem important, but if...

    "Ask the Cuemaker?"

This forum occasionally goes way off subject and gets downright nasty. That?s a shame. However, this forum has saved me time, money and frustration. I read it almost every day and apply what I?ve learned. To me, it?s like getting mini cue lessons (FREE!). I?ve also used the search engine to...

    CNC Inlay Work

cuenga, I saw the CueMonster at the Expo and was real impressed. The price tag was a little steep for a hobbiest like me, but the tool was awesome. I was thinking about asking Santa for one, but I know I haven't been that good. The price of this Taig machine is doable for me, but I'm...

Inlay Designs and the LAW ...

Consumer confusion is more of a trademark issue. Someone could copyright a design, but more likely they will get a design patent. Here's a link to one...

Well the sledge hammer patent got me

Actually, the drawings in the patent show the attachment of the ferrule as being screwed-on. Again, another definition problem. What is "permanently disposed". Here, I'd say that if the intent is for it not to move, than it shows permanence. One could make an opposite argument. Frequently...

Well the sledge hammer patent got me

Now you are getting in to the area of definitions. Welcome to my twisted world. How broadl is "one-piece"? I don't know. If you cut it in two and affix it back together, I'd argue that it is still "one-piece", but an argument could be made to the contrary. Another bizarre twist to the story...

Well the sledge hammer patent got me

Here are the facts from the public data bases: U.S. Patent No. 7,097,570 was issued to Mike Gulyassay with three claims. The broadest of which is: ?1. A jump/break cue for jumping a cue ball and for breaking a rack of pool balls, said jump/break cue comprising: a shaft having a striking end...

Mini Lathe or Old Craftsman 109

Thanks to all who have responded. I was leaning towards an older lathe, but wasn't sure if it was a mistake. To be honest, I'm happy with my Hightower Deluxe for most cue stuff, so through-bore size isn't an issue for me. Alan
