I use one of these for catylized urethane, and I need to thin it a little. Do you need to thin it?

I'm not sure Dave, but I had 4 flat lam. shaft dowels, and all 4 of them warped on me.

If the shaft is 27 3/4" without the ferrule now,it can easily be made to 29" again by adding a tenon, and a 1 1/4" ferrule which is standard for Meucci.

Try using the foam ear plugs, if you put them in right, they work really well, and they're cheap. It makes it easier to wear glasses and such.

Pretty much everything you said is true. I would say it's only more prone to warping if you bend the shaft when you break. I break with my player, and I broke the ferrule, and cracked the shaft while doing so(and I don't have a monster break). That was about a year ago. I still play and...
