They are sweeps not swoops. You are not a bird.
Try this.
Acquire your visuals. Then focus your eyes on center cue ball.
So for a left handed outside sweep (outside to inside) just move into centre cue ball with your cue.
Gerry's video demonstrates this perfectly. Works for me...
Not quite. He's just been given a 12 year ban for match fixing plus a 40,000 pound fine.
Maybe you might see him playing pool as from what I read he is drowning gambling debt.
Been done before, anyone remember Quinten Hann?
You think you can build this?

But this would be better:

But wouldn't it just be easier to just go to the table and...
I think we can all agree with that. Sounds pretty definitive to me.
We can probably close this thread now as you have totally nailed it in one.
Maybe start another thread like "What is a cue ball?". Should make a fascinating discussion.
Nice to see that you have come over to the Dark Side.
Next step is to do what the naysayers never do - go to the table and try it.
Here's Gerry's beautifully simple demonstration using a manual pivot.

If you can shoot those shots consistently then...
How would this perfect stroke tell them *where* to aim?
You might be able to learn how to shoot an arrow with a bow using perfect technique but end up shooting one of the judges.
Funny, I can't see both visuals from multiple positions either. There's only one place I can stand and have my head positioned where I can see both visuals. Centre to edge and inside edge to (say) 'C'.
As soon as I move my eye even a fraction one of the visuals is off.
If I shuffle my body...
As usual, another incredibly insightful analysis of CTE, coming from your comprehensive knowledge of the the subject and your amazing analytical mind.
I think your brain, like Einstein's, should be preserved for all time - preferably this week.
This is what I do to choose a pivot direction.
Once you have acquired your visuals, look at the shot.
For a cut to the left:
Does the shot need 'thinning' to make it? Use a left pivot.
Does the shot need 'thickening' to make it? Use a right pivot.
Be aware that a left 'A' pivot is the same...
No.
When you sweep bridge length doesn't matter. Only when using manual pivot.
Just try it for yourself. Set up the same shot. Vary the bridge length after sweeping to center cue ball and you will see that it makes no difference.
But of course you can't because you are obsessed by theoretical...
