    speed

Biggest problem of some of my "ball princes and princesses" :-) :-)

position of butt hand (when shooting pool)

See it the same way-- every human is different/individual- and here some players have a problem, because of their inflexible/rigid wrist. Shane s break a nice example- but I see this much more for example on those tiny "small distance" finesse shots. Where I try to explain and also "show" how...

    speed

Imo "rolling the cb" is just too dangerous- and super tough, too. Every table- also a brand new table can have tiny *issues". So try to learn to use pocket speed whenever you re able to. Speed 2,5 to 3 (so a cueball would roll 2,5 or 3 table lenghts) sounds fast....but it isn t for sure :-)...

    Simplified CTE

Well- i see it that way. Let s say, "Dan" practicing a shot- and it works exactly as he visualized ( aka ball in the pocket, lol). "So why should he work on something." Just one typical example- I can show up with for example with exactly 8 students out of 31. These 8 people have this one...

    Simplified CTE

Here you gave yourself the answer matey :) Your last words are the key--- by doing something.....and just "being result/success orientated", you adopt "such things". Ball goes down....so i ll go on with it...the same ways as i did it before. That s it. And in most cases you ll somewhen reach...

    Simplified CTE

The brain creates *this picture" bbb-- so if you want to really try to attack such a problem, it is a "re-programming"- fact. But noone can promise you, how fast or how long this will last. I had students who were able to immediatley adjust (were i really was amazed and positivley shocked) on...

    Simplified CTE

Excellent Post Dan- That is what it s all about- have had several extremly strong players who had *this problem*- And it works as you have shown up- but it takes time- made some relative "fast fixes" with players- and some went crazy- so you can never say, how long it takes to fix such a...

Any way to recover the old WEI diagrams?

Also a very good page to make your diagrams online! https://www.poolbilliards.co/

    Left eye dominate, right handed

I for myself am not able to see with my right eye "really"- just a few percent on the right eye. So it s clear, that my left eye is super dominant. But there is a but :-) These few percents are enough, to *give" a slightly different result if i would close my right eye. My "head position", (...

    The ULTIMATE aiming system.

On well expirienced players I agree 100% Brian- But this topic about the parallax error is existent- more than the most think. -- discussed this with 3 eye doctors and they ve been amazed how big the percentage number was, which i told him ( from 40 students- 12 had a clear parallax...

    Explain Mezz Shafts

@ Catalin: best to worst: not possible to give you an answher- because this is ALWAYS subjective. I played with every Mezz Shaft. And each one is a high quality product- fact. the EX-Pro for example has a carbon insert ( the following shaft from the HP2Pro Series)- for a 12.5 mm Shaft a really...

Nice one- good job Brian :-)

    The ULTIMATE aiming system.

Agree- but even if i got your point Brian: Both parts ( aka the physical and the mental part) have to be "practiced" so that they can unconcsiouly run in the "correct"order :-) I think that s what you re saying. You can have the straightest stroke on the planet- but if you have just negative...

    My Thoughts on Aiming

congrats :-) Alignment is almost everything- And that you have always the *same* perspective as soon as you "watch/aim" standing on the shot line. And as you have shown up, you re allowing yourself also, to be able *to stroke* with enough room while being down on the shot (what is the most...

    Best pool learning books?

Dr Dave s stuff you started with is a very good start! Play Great Pool from Mark Wilson 99 critical shots in pool ( still an absolute gem!!!!) Mastering Pool from my all time hero George Fels-- even if the game of 14.1 changed a bit- Imo the bible to get a GOOD understanding! The Wagon Wheel...

final backswing to tip-cb contact..how long should it be?

100% Demonstrated it to some students who asked about pause- : started to video immediatley 16 players- And the results showed it clearly- and also in the time range Mark also shown up with. 5 out of 16 ( all A to A+ and higher) They all had been about 1,5 to 1,8- -- the other "lower...

Where oh where do you go Front Foot?

Well chosen- and very well described (as usual my dear Fran :-p ) The natural given "stroke direction" aka "anatomical natrually alilgnment" is always a good choice to give it a try. From my personal expirience it fits a BIG amount of humans/players. The other way, like it is for example...

Alex Lely coaching NY May 29th - June 5th (note: 5th a seminar)

Very well chosen words my Stu! Furthermore he has something special- Wish i would have just 1-2 skills he owns :-) His ability to communicate is extremely impressive.

Alex Lely coaching NY May 29th - June 5th (note: 5th a seminar)

Alex is one of the very rare examples who competed on world class level as a player- and in the past decase he also became an absolute world class teacher. One of these "few" guys i have so much respect- and would take every advice. And..... hell of a human :-) have fun with "the Plague"...

Is SVB winning less tourneys since switching to cf?

Ok- I think we both cannot talk for Shane, do we? Back to your "main question". In my opinion I don t think, that he is or was better with wood. I would go a bit further and say: Shane is still world class- and he still improves. But the elite top players nowadays are just better now. And for...
