Have you played with a hybrid shaft yet??

Among my league peers, I actually see more carbon shafts among guys aged 35 +. Probably because of more disposable income, though.

Max Eberle on people who play on barboxes "Pool players need to grow some balls"

I only know one APA 7 who breaks and runs regularly. He works at a pool hall so has lots of time to get actual practice in. I watched an APA 7, Fargo 560 or so play against our team last night, he made some absolutely wicked shots but had not a single B&R in 6 racks.

    Meucci Diamond Ebony

If I saw a new high end Meucci in real life, I'd be happy for them. In a sea of increasingly boring cues, they stand out a lot.

    Meucci Diamond Ebony

They have a lot of great designs, though they haven't really added any new ones in a while. Also, for some reason even the really generic Meuccis look cooler than their peers to me. I think it's the ring work + larger butt that make them stand out. I have an ANW-1 and think it looks great, and...

    Meucci Diamond Ebony

To be honest, it looks better with the grain visible. And those inlays are very nice.

Less expensive Joss cues and quality?

I bought a "budget" Meucci too lately and I love it. I do want to add a Joss to my collection too, perhaps when I reach some sort of pool milestone.

    Wrapless pool cues

Both of my cues have been wrapless, I personally don't see the need for a wrap. I guess since I've played with nothing but house cues until a year ago, it feels natural to me. But I also like that I'll avoid having a wrap that gets gnarly over time. I'm surprised that wrapless cues aren't more...

    RAXX Pool Room????

I'm aware! That's why I strictly play at bars in Manhattan

Max Eberle on people who play on barboxes "Pool players need to grow some balls"

I like both. Playing on Diamond bar boxes is fun as hell to me.

    Diamond table domination

I have yet to see anything better than Diamonds for bar boxes

    RAXX Pool Room????

A little pricey IMO but a great place to play pool and very lively. The equipment is nice, even the house cues.

    RAXX Pool Room????

And the Barboxes are also Diamonds, with pockets that seem to be about 4.75

McDermott cues in The Color Of Money

It is very nice looking! I bet it will get a lot of compliments at the pool hall

SVB vs Josh Filler announced for Feb 6th at NYC's Amsterdam Billiards

Pool halls in NYC are so expensive that I'd rather just hanging out at bars with Diamond tables for pool action. I get jealous hearing about people in other states that can rent tables for single digits per hour!

McDermott cues in The Color Of Money

I bought a Meucci in November and I totally love it. It's the simple ANW-1 one in Rainbow stain, but it's still nice. I like most of their designs to be honest, but it would be cool to see some new stuff here and there. I also want to add a Joss to my collection some day, but all of their cues...

McDermott cues in The Color Of Money

I really wish McDermott would go back to the butt caps of that era, the standard ones since the 90s are ugly to me. I'm oddly picky about this sort of thing, and it's a shame because McDermott has a lot of cool designs and they update their catalog more often than the other American pool...

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

I thought "custom" meant built to your specifications, these are just cues that are exclusive to their website

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

Really? Their non-custom cues often cost more than that

Was pool better 50 years ago?

Rotation games and 8 ball with ball in hand rules are more exciting to me than straight pool, so that's one thing I definitely prefer about today's game

    Cue Design Websites

I wonder why it looks so McDermott-y. Don't they have their own custom cues (but without this tool available)?
