    Alternate break is ruining pool

How about loser racks and after seeing the rack winner gets to choose to break or make the opponent break, no-reracks? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Pool Movie Ideas

I just had this idea in another thread; TCOM sequel with Tom Cruise's character transformed by the years into an Earl Strickland type. Redemption story with Vincent developing character and ending up on the Mosconi Cup team and leading the US to victory after a 10 year drought. Bonus if...

RED BULL as a sponsor for pool.

How about we turn the Vincent character into an Earl Strickland type who needs to rediscover personal character to make a comeback. I know I'd pay to see Tom Cruise wearing a beekeeper suit and or ass weights. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Better way to Magic Rack

Not a fair comparison you need to add the time to put and arrange the balls in the wooden rack. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Which is a better spot

Question, if you're getting the call 8 and you call it on the break as some have suggested and it doesn't go but something else does, do you get to shoot again, or do you lose your turn since you missed the called shot? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

So, whats going on with Shane?

This might have something to do with it. Broke his ferrule. And after just 13 years. https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fshane.vanboening%2Fposts%2F1137262979705230&width=500

Fargo Rating - trends of top players over last year

Math geek question following others may want to skip. Then how did you establish the first player? If the only data you had was 1000 games between SVB and ER split 501 to 499. You would still need to set a baseline. At some point you had no established players and there has to be a first...

Fargo Rating - trends of top players over last year

If there is general inflation at the top that implies that starter ratings for average folks are too high and the extra points flow upward. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Snooker vs Pool

Most if not all of the sponsorship money for snooker, darts and the Mosconi cup comes from paramutual betting businesses such as Betways and Dafabet. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

How popular is it really and whats the value of it?

I don't know I haven't put quarters into a table in years. Maybe I meant 50 cents per person? But using your numbers would just make my point even larger making the industry worth upwards of $3.5B per year. That's like Star Wars money.

Fargo Rate compared to chess FIDE rating

Wikipedia tells me a 2600 should win 1/3 games against a 2800. To have an equal per game chance against SVB you'd need to be Fargo rated above 720. Which would put you in top 85 in the US. Which is about right as there also happen to be about 90 Chess Grandmasters in the US.

How popular is it really and whats the value of it?

Sure, but a homeowner with a $1000 furniture-style table is probably putting more per game into the "industry" than the 2-quarters-a-game folks.

How popular is it really and whats the value of it?

That's probably a high number. There are 240 million adults in the US If each of them played just 10 games a year at $0.50 a game that would be a $1.2 Billion a year industry, if there were that kind of money floating around you bet we'd get more attention.

Do you know of Pro players that enter small $ weekly tournaments from time to time?

Funny timing for this question, I'm waiting to play this year's Japan Open winner (Hayato Hijikata) in a $15 weekly tournament. Of course his dad owns the pool hall, so that may have something to do with it.
