JB Ultímate Rugged case: a testimonial

Glad your cues are ok. I've had Giuseppe, Instroke, Whitten, Acme, and Porper cases. If my case hit the road at 60+mph, I would only worry about the cues in the Instroke. Their clasps and zippers are trash and may dump my cues onto the pavement. The others would do a fine job protecting my cues...

Rules for gorst SVB race to 120

That's all it is worth TO ME. I can watch Earl and Efren's TCOM for free if I could find the time. I am not a retiree who will be able to watch the match in fewer than 20 sittings. At some point it will become like a job I need to finish. I take it back. I'm not even paying $10 for a copy...

    Bert Kinister

Here are 3 of mine. I designed the middle cue to be plain for league play. The bottom one is 60". I have another 60" that has the built-in extension you see Bert use in some of his videos. I felt they played better than most customs back in the day. Not quite as firm as a SW, but much more firm...

Did Mark Wilson finally kill "aiming systems" ?

Thia reminds me of my first lesson with Bert. I told him I needed to work on my 9ball break. He threw some balls on the table and asked me to run them out. After 3 failed attempts he asked why I would want to break better when I can't even run out. I will just be making it easier for my opponent...

Did Mark Wilson finally kill "aiming systems" ?

Tiger Woods had Hank Haney as a coach for years. I don't recall Haney on the pro tour.

What is the best ferrule material

When Gorst signed on with Cuetec, he had the white ferrules on the Cynergy swapped out for something black. At the time, rumor was the material was carbon fiber but that may have just been speculation. I could not keep the butter-soft white ferrules clean, so I had them all replaced with...

Did Mark Wilson finally kill "aiming systems" ?

My guess is because it is more difficult to see the contact point on a back cut than on other shots.

    Bert Kinister

I took lessons from him in the 90s. I'd say his 9ball game (possibly his weakest game at the time) was around 650 Fargo. However, when he was hitting thousands of balls a day creating the 60 minute workout, I'll bet he was 100 points higher. He was a great instructor and charged accordingly...

What's your estimated fargo rating if you beat 9 ball ghost more often than not?

Nice job. Do your pockets look like the pic I posted? The room owner claims all his tables are 4.5" pro-cut. He also mentioned the slates are longer than some. According to him, some of these tables have slates that are 1 inch longer than others and he received both styles. He had them...

What's your estimated fargo rating if you beat 9 ball ghost more often than not?

Okay I stopped at our local room that has pro-cut pocket 7-footers. I only had a half hour so I played the pro ghost one race to seven. 7-2 me with 3 B&Rs. I was breaking well which helped. Fargo 620ish depending on the day. Pockets look right?

    APA 9ball WTF

Super common on a coin-op when a rack is completed and there are still 9 balls available to use for the next rack. If you play exclusively at a bar that opens the tables, you may have never had a need for it.

What's your estimated fargo rating if you beat 9 ball ghost more often than not?

Please do, and GL in tourney. I'm sure you can bust the 9ball ghost but the 10B just breaks tougher. I'd guess you're even money on the 10B ghost on a reasonable tight 9 footer. How have you done against the 10B in the past? I don't think I've been brave enough to try it. Is there a new...

    Aramith Black Orange

Enough players complained about the colors that one of our local rooms shelved the set they bought. Good riddance.

    Shane vs. Fedor

IIRC, they added more on the end in one of the big ones because it was too close and neither wanted t coming down to one rack for the $$$. Was it the Chang match? Doh...

What's your estimated fargo rating if you beat 9 ball ghost more often than not?

This. I watched a couple racks and saw 3 balls that would not have gone on my 9', or on any of the 7s at one of our rooms in town. I don't know about league cut, but definitely not pro cut from what I saw. However, I think Freddy shoots well enough to have success on the pro cut tables. He...

    Aramith Black Orange

Been available for months. Hope the people who bought those abortion sets change out the purples at the very least. Aramith could come out with a set of solid white balls with black numbers and Matchroom would switch to them and tout them as the best balls in the world for the right price.

What's your estimated fargo rating if you beat 9 ball ghost more often than not?

So true. On days when I am breaking well, I play the pro ghost fairly even in races to 5 to 7 games, and win easily over the bih ghost. (9' Diamond ProAm 4.5" pockets) When I am not breaking well I only win 20-30% of the games against the bih ghost. 620ish FR here btw

Rules for gorst SVB race to 120

I may be inclined to pay $10 for a copy of the full match to watch at my leisure. Like most PPVs, I don't have time to tune in all day for days at a time. I'm typically stuck with highlight videos after the fact.

    Gorst Grip/sticky

IIRC, in his segment of What's in the Case, Fedor mentioned how wet his grip hand gets. He carried something in his case to help with that issue but I cannot remember what it was. Any wrapped cue used by a sweaty-hand player can feel tacky to a dry hand. I find waxed linen to be slicker than...
