    Cue Raffles

I was in a Vegas casino with a triple zero roulette table. I learned there are two types of people in this world, one who wants to tell people what a ripoff a game is and others who don't care that they should have been paid $12 on a winning $10 bet, they are having fun and they "won". Sent...

    Cue Raffles

Did he cap tickets at 100 or not draw until sold out? The difference is there is some risk that he wouldn't even sell 40 tickets to cover the value. On the other hand, a raffle that doesn't go off until all of the powerball numbers are sold, should have less vig, though they surely have some...

    Interesting Predicament

If I could have any of my sold cues back, it would be a Nitti I've owned. The middle one but I would take the merry widow too. Carbon shafts turned my head and I wanted something that looked better suited. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

    Long vs. short posts............

Like Roger Ebert said about movies applies here: A good post is never long enough and a bad post is never short enough. There are people on here who can make a long post that I'll read, Dr Dave and Bob Jewett included. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

What is meant by "Pop" the cue ball?

Making the cue ball jump after hitting the rack on the break. The perfect break makes a ball and leaves the CB in the middle of the table, which "should" leave an easy shot on the first object ball. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

    Reason for “expensive “ chalk

I have had a tip glaze over before and that can be the case for me, as can my stroke. Saying all of that, switching to Triangle eliminated the miscues that night. I do wonder if the newer chalks are not abrasive enough to naturally wear the tip. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

    Reason for “expensive “ chalk

I have started getting lots of miscues lately with Toam Pyro and have gone back to Triangle chalk. My cueball looks like it has a strange disease but see no weird reactions. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

    3/8×8 pin. Anyone used one?

It "should" be radial. Radial is a trademark of Uniloc so 3/8-8 is the "cotton swab" of q-tips. Oddly, the only radial pin where I had trouble accepting another company's shaft was a Predator P3. I believe they own Uniloc. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

Different Types of Cue Construction explained. What's Best?

The Super Billiards Expo near Valley Forge, PA in April is the best chance to try cues and buy cues. The big production brands you are looking for have booths every year and many custom makers have booths too. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

I'm looking for a low deflection wood shaft

Seyberts offers tapering. Id talk to them about the process as far as taper length. They might know which shafts can go that thin. 314 shafts cannot but maybe Tigers or Mezz can, for instance. Otherwise Bob Danielson or Jacoby can make a shaft at your preferred size. Sent from my Pixel 6a...

    Help With Shaft Identification

If you are trying to find out that it is a tasc/BB/Searing, I doubt you have anything to go on. People will buy it from you as a generic shaft but at a generic price. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

    Help With Shaft Identification

It is the pilot being too large. I have a Jensen and a Sly that have large pilots, measuring.500" or larger. Your shaft would fit in either of mine without a problem. It also would likely fit on a Schon. If you wanted to use it on your Joss, you would need that pilot sanded down. Sent from my...

    Help With Shaft Identification

Does it start to screw on the joss? I would think it is a 5/16-14 but that pilot is probably too large for a joss. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

    Matchroom 9 Ball Template Rack

These are supposed to be thinner. One thing that the 10 ball wings give you is some guidance that the rack is square. Both these and the accurack 9 ball could be skewed. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk
