Taking the Pocket Out of Aiming

If by "pivot accordingly" you mean, "pivot around the correct center to make the shot", then obviously the shot might be made. What do you mean by "pivot accordingly"? And does this mean that you will be putting outside spin on the cue ball on all such shots?

Taking the Pocket Out of Aiming

Of course according to geometry and physics, that "system" is broken and will cause the player to shoot balls into the rail rather than the pocket if the system is actually followed.

    Dumping - caught

I've been in/around "friendly" games twice where even I could see that one of the players was cheating. One was very obviously dealing seconds at blackjack. The other was shorting the pot. I wonder how many I missed. There was also a high school kid in the rec room who could do amazing things...

Getting casino betting back and new sponsorships

It may be that the story was retold in places we can't imagine. I have been told that the PBTA/Camel relationship -- ended in an $800,000 damages award to the PBTA -- was used in business schools as an example of how not to have a sponsor relationship.

Psychology bachelor’s thesis on neurocognitive aspects of pool billiards – participants wanted

So in Austria players are required to have training in the rules? Almost no American players have ever had such training, and even some top players make very basic rules mistakes.

Getting casino betting back and new sponsorships

I wonder if the state Gaming Commission would need to be involved. I doubt that Matchroom would want to open that particular can of worms. They have had at least one previous case of pool players not behaving well relative to the bookies.

Scott Gracio I want my cue or money back now.

The OP's last post in this thread was over 10 years ago, so I imagine the problem is as resolved as it's going to get. Also, the OP doesn't visit here any more.

Hypothetically: can a "regular" shaft be made LD?

For me, it was simple. About 1980, I had a Balabushka shaft with a loose ivory ferrule. Trying to get it off, the tenon broke. I squared the end up and put a tip on. No ferrule except for the fiber backing (Crown? Champion?). Mostly done. Over the years, sanding got it down to about 11mm. That...

Scott Gracio I want my cue or money back now.

Scott's previous interactions with the OP may have told him to just step away. The OP had a total of 77 posts on AZB. Read through them and see if you would ever willingly have a transaction with him, based on those posts.

    Straight pool rule question

This is covered in Rule 1.6 of the World Standardized Rules. Those rules are available here: https://wpapool.com/rules/ Rule 1.6 says, in part: When the shooter has the cue-ball in hand above the Head String and all the legal object-balls are above the Head String, he may request the legal...

Psychology bachelor’s thesis on neurocognitive aspects of pool billiards – participants wanted

A license allows you to play in a sports organization's events. You agree abide by the rules of the organization. We don't do that much in the US. Back when I was a player member of the BCA -- which they don't have any more -- I don't recall signing any agreement to abide.

What’s in your opinion causing SVB’s shaft to veer hard left during follow-through on the break? ( video attached )

He's using huge, huge, huge follow through. What happens to the stick after the first inch of follow through is mostly unimportant. Is he throwing his whole body at the shot? Do you remember when the top players bent their sticks nearly double on the breaks?
