A great explanation on how to post images

In my Direct Message edit window, I have the following tools, plus some others under the three dots. The picture icon is for inserting images. I can also just do CTRL-V to paste/insert a copied image from my clipboard (in Windows). Maybe it's according to your membership level?

    Moses Shot

This is a very old trick shot. I first saw it in the 1970s at some pro event where the players were swapping shots on the practice table. The eight was one ball off the first diamond. There was a single blocker hung in the side. The cueball pockets the blocker. Plain draw. Adjust the cut angle...

It looks like you defined the function for Fargo odds. I didn't know you could do that in Excel.

As I recall, it happened to Earl in a tournament. The ref tried to say he didn't as he put it back quickly,

It is a good exercise in patience. It's also a constant reminder that the posters here are not typical pool players.

Many beginners pay no attention to which side they missed on. For a ball along the short rail, if they hit it too full, and it hits the short rail and then the long-rail jaw, they will often say they hit it too thin, because they only seem to see the contact on the long rail. Really.

A simple way to see how accurate a shot is: mark the center of the pocket with a donut. See whether the object ball touches the donut or passes over its center. That's better than just seeing if you make the ball. And/or center a ball on that donut. If the object ball doesn't follow the pocket...

Question for instructors: psychology bachelor’s thesis on neurocognitive aspects of pool performance

This question will probably confuse most US respondents: Do you also have, or do you only have, a licence from another country? There are no player licenses in the US. It might be useful to have a "?" button or similar for each question to allow text comments and questions about the survey...

    Straight pool - dead ones

There are some more complicated shots that involve timing of multiple kisses and forcing a ball though a ball it's frozen to, but as said above, standard combos and kisses are the majority of shots you'll see. I don't know of a single, complete discussion of all the "special" shots. Such shots...

I just got my tickets. The premium tickets seem to be sold out, but a cheap-seats season pass is about $170 for six days. The Embassy Suites is the hotel adjoining the conference center -- linked with discount code from matchroompool.com. Seven nights refundable was $202 per night (total with...

Measuring Rail Rebound without a high-speed camera

The ball left the rail with almost zero spin. That's actually the usual result from a direct, rolling shot. As it acquires roll, its speed drops by a factor of 5/7. Depending on how you want to define COR/COF, you may want to take this into account.

One problem with that is when you are using the standard reds and yellows (or blues) set of British balls, it's really hard to say which ball you're after.
