    2026 World Snooker Championship: April 18 - May 04

I see that Neil Robertson has asked for a ban on the old chalk. I don't blame him. Ronnie's table looked like a battlefield. Remember when players were expected to clean up after their screw shots?

    1970 9 ball rules

As I recall, all balls spotted. If your opponent scratched on the break, and the 1 ball was behind the line, it would spot first and then anything else that was down. This could make it really hard for him to hit the 1 ball, and he was already on the first foul.

World Pool Championship to leave Saudi!

An advantage of Fulda is that the (American) pool scene is a lot more active in Germany than the UK.

World Pool Championship to leave Saudi!

Considering how late the cancellation is relative to when the WC was expected to be held, I think Matchroom is going to go with a venue where they have a previous, successful history, and that is most likely to be in the UK. The only way I can see that not happening is if a sponsor/venue steps...

Gambling spot table size, which would you pick

    Maybe not even then... https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/when-ronnie-allen-re-invented-1-hole.27832/#post-325030

Johan back at 2026 Mosconi Cup Healm

From what I've seen of the way he works, I would be surprised if that was left out of his agreement with Matchroom.

Gambling spot table size, which would you pick

Fargorate.com says you're 80% favorite. He must suffer from innumeracy. Or, he has something up his sleeve.

    2026 World Snooker Championship: April 18 - May 04

As others have mentioned, chalk on the cushions reduces the slide and makes the pockets less forgiving. Also, there's the chance that small changes in throw (American sense of throw), will cause shots to go a little wider. Chalk on the cushions can also cause big bounces, as you can get sort of...

I'm guessing this will mean some change in the lineup. ;)

    Line-up Straight pool

I assume they are in the rule book I copied the text from. The racking and spotting are just like the rules for straight pool, except all pocketed balls are spotted at the end of each turn.

Are Pool League Members Allowed to Gamble Outside of League Play?

Here's my favorite story about someone asking their opponent to gamble in a tournament. It wasn't league play, but it was an amateur event at the time. Be careful whose cape you tug on. https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/best-goat-moment-of-all-time.550615/page-2#post-7462333

    Identify these billiard balls

Well, a light cue ball will draw more easily and a heavy ball will follow more easily. But the thread on ball weights says there is not much difference in the various types, as I recall. Also important is how "elastic" the balls are. More elastic means less energy is lost in the ball-ball...

He's currently in Cooperstown, so a little out of the way, but I'll keep it in mind if I go to Turning Stone again.

    Pace of Play

It's remarkable that so many people seem to love Ultimate (British)Pool for the time format, but that is exactly what happens. Same for heyball. Maybe they like the possibility of using the clock to screw their opponent. Did any matches at the DCC this year run into the time limit rule? Here it...

I wonder if the prize fund (or most of it) had already been committed. It will be interesting to see who the sponsors are.

I imagine that wherever it is, the production will look close to the same. What's wrong with Manila?

Vafaei was 1-3 behind Trump but they ended at 4-4 for the session. He seems to be unawed by the #1. WST.tv now has the matches up for watching quickly after the stream. I think they have improved quite a bit since they left DAZN.

Seeing the contact point on the object ball.

The amazing part to me was that they were a graduate student in a technical field. And then there was the student who was about to enter college in computer science and was unclear on what an angle was. Not a particular angle, but any angle, as in the opening between two crossing lines.

Seeing the contact point on the object ball.

In the long run, I think that's how everyone who turns into a good player does it, especially when they use side spin, but sometimes beginners need a little help. Sometimes a lot of help. I once was about 15 minutes into the basics of aiming, including ghost balls and a variety of cut shots...
