Can you straighten a warped shaft?.....Manwon can!

Yeah, it's not a piece of wood. It's pieces of wood bonded together. From what I understand that's a whole different ball game where this topic is concerned. I have exactly one laminated shaft in my collection, and it is a Dufferin. Not sure how rare that is.

Can you straighten a warped shaft?.....Manwon can!

That's the point. I don't have that. Yes, it's labor intensive.

Can you straighten a warped shaft?.....Manwon can!

Not 100% on that yet. Still studying. But probably start with CA.

Luthier work is amazing. I've been studying videos of how they restore finish chips. I'm going to try it on cues. I've always been skeptical that a small chip requires a complete refinish.

I am along the way, between the origin and destination, it certainly passed by here on I95. I will keep my eyes peeled and discreetly ask around. If I hear anything I will DM you.

Can you straighten a warped shaft?.....Manwon can!

When I was a kid my grandfather taught me how to bend planks to make wood forms for concrete. He made all the walkways and walls for the beautiful gardens that surrounded the house I grew up in. That was softwood, and it was for temporary use. Woodworkers, craftsmen, and artists steam and...

Can we talk about Dale Perry cues?

I believe that is a well considered set of objective observations from someone that truly understand the nuts and bolts of cue construction. And it poses an interesting question at the end. Richard Helmstetter and The Schmelke Family are in the International Cuemakers Hall of fame.

Can we talk about Dale Perry cues?

If you review the "sold" items on Bay the DP cues run typically from $300 to $700 actual selling price. I should have bought one or two when you could grab them for $115 each. That said, I am not looking for one now but would take one if it fell in my lap.

    Pinnacle cues, Cary NC

It actually has some nice wood in it. It's not really that horrible. It kind of reflects some of the old Adam designs but not executed nearly as well. But when someone buys a cue like this new, they could get a much better made, but simpler cue from a better maker for the same money. Maybe...

Thank you! It works, but it's sideways. Do you know what year that is? Fixed it. Rotated it. 👍

    Identify Taiwan Cue Logo

One I found in the US, and one in Japan. No, I did not buy them. One of them I would buy, but they wanted stupid money for it. They think it's an Adam, and it's definitely a KaoKao cue. They refused a reasonable (but still high) offer. I wanted that cue for a specific reason in my...

Questions on a Tim Scruggs SP please. ( Age and value?)

Yup. But I have made a study of bumpers. I would bet on Dufferin.

Questions on a Tim Scruggs SP please. ( Age and value?)

Cheap? I think that's relative. Could just be a good price. Frey, Scruggs, etc., known to be great players. Most of that is in the shaft IMHO as far as the cue. Of course, that depends mostly on the player. I think this is the one I saw and I was tempted. I just don't need a player...
