    Which is a better spot

If i was getting a spot, I'd prefer the ball spot. There's more pressure on my opponent to dog 2 money balls (the spot ball and the 9).

Ra Hanna Commentary - Am I The Dinosaur??

I thought all the commentators did a great job and the addition of Ra Hanna was an excellent choice. He's been in the game for a while and has some knowledge, let's give him a chance. They're trying to change things for the better within our sport, let's support them.

The USA and a complete lack of killer instinct.

I kind of think it's unfair to compare US players to the Asian and Euro players. The Euro's and Asian players are backed by their governments, given stipends and have coaches. That might have something to do with that lack of "killer instinct" or what could be considered lack of consistency...

    Open bridge

I played in league a couple years ago, had a pretty good NYC pro on the team. I was playing a match and it was hill hill and I dogged a straight in 9 ball. It was a pretty long shot, and I used an open bridge. After I missed the shot he said "why did you use an open bridge. Hill hill, tough shot...

Pat Fleming's 55-inch longtime playing cue

I asked Pat about years ago during a lesson..he just said "I don't need to hold the cue that far back, so why not just cut off the last couple inches"...something to that effect.

How come you can run 18, 3 times, but not 54...

Do you re-rack after your runs end, or do you just continue from your miss? I ask because if you re rack after every miss and start over, it might be that your break shot is not opening the rack enough to allow your runs to continue. I was taught that because I'm inexperienced at straight...

    Playing safe - how important?

Safeties are where games are won. They don't just hide your opponent from seeing the object ball etc, but you can use them to break apart clusters of balls, make a future run out easier by positioning object balls in a certain pattern and if you're playing 9 ball, you can play a safe to push the...

    Rant about Billiardwarehouse

I've been dealing with Greg and the Billiardwarehouse for over 10 years, I've bought numerous cues (years ago I broke a stick a month) and returned some items and Greg and his staff are the greatest people to deal with. Always professional, always helpful and just decent. Christian you got the...

    Shooting off the rail

I was taught two things about shooting off the rail and they seem to always have worked for me. One is, as you strike the cue ball, do not extend your shaft further than where the cue ball lies. So in other words, short stroke. The other is to shoot into the rail, like dig into the felt. Not to...

Dennis is 2012 US Open 10 ball champion!

I watched Orcullo the first week in Vegas. He was always hitting balls, whether on the bar or big tables or on the 14.1 challenge table. Every time I walked through the tourament rooms he was there by himself practicing.
