    Billy Thorpe gone wild!

I would second this. I am not a redneck...never have been. However, I did grow up on a farm (in Missouri.) I baled hay during the summers, fixed fence, helped round-up the cattle, etc. Most of the people I grew up with working on farms didn't identify as rednecks either...just country.

Why the new 1 pocket rule of ball made on break, re-rack at Derby City?

Corey's 8-Ball Break It's worth noting that the break shown in the video is on a 7 foot diamond table. For whatever reason, it doesn't seem to work on a 9 footer. Corey used that same break against Justin B when they played in SC.

    Shane Vanboening vs Jayson Shaw

I was there for that match as well. Alex had an extremely long run of "fortunate rolls" at the tail end of that match to pull out the win. I seem to recall even he was joking about it.

    Shaw/ Bergman- OFF

Probably the fact that Justin beat Kevin Cheng, and Shaw can't beat him either.

Roomba - can it clean a pool table?

I use one... I use one on my 9ft. Diamond table. It's not the main reason I bought the Roomba, but it serves as a nice secondary use case. It works just fine and I've never seen any indication that it hurts the felt (or anything else.) But, I'm not sure I'd buy one just for that.

    The Koreans came to play!!

Truth! The Taiwanese are NOT sponsored by their government.

SVB vs. Cory Duel barbox race to 25 for $5K from 2008

Shane's stroke... I was just watching part of this (thanks for the link by the way), and I think I noticed something about Shane's stroke. Am I crazy or does Shane follow through on the cueball more here than he does now? I seem to recall Jeremy Jones saying in a recent video stream...

Nomination vs Submission - BCA Hall of Fame

Speaking of the Hall of Fame...I have a question... I routinely see people complain about who they feel should be in the hall of fame but aren't...as well as complain that the Hall of Fame is joke, rigged, etc., etc. blah, blah, blah. So...having said that, I have a dumb question...maybe two...

Dennis vs. SVB Full Story- Truth From the Inside

Here's a quick lesson for everyone. Never sign a contract with anyone whose grammar and spelling is this sh!tty. Especially when it's their first language. "This 100 percent untrue he stayed months with me when we went to tournaments and won he sent all the money home to his wife I payed for...

how many US players have the ability / skill to go pro but can't because of work?

I always wondered what happened to Edey. He was a pleasure to watch play. Met him once at the Derby too and spoke to him briefly, he was a very nice guy. I agree that he was probably a stronger player than Morra. I have mixed emotions about hearing that he quit though. I think he definitely...

The Mosconi Cup is Not About ...

So you're saying that repeatable fundamentals play no part in having a consistent pool game that holds up under pressure? I just want to make sure we're all understanding you correctly.

Oh the naysayers, where are you now? Y.H. Cheng (Kevin)

A lot of people don't realize this, but Kevin and Ko Pin-Yi (older) usually flip flopped on who the better player was back in Taiwan for several years. Kevin hasn't been performing quite up to par the last couple of years for some reason, but he is definitely able to play with the best in the...

    Break Stats -- 2015 U.S. Open 9-Ball, Oct. 2015

Something that would also be interesting to see, would be the percentage of games won by the "top tier" players who made a ball on the break vs the win percentage of "lower tier" players who made a ball on the break. Admittedly these two categories are a bit subjective, but we could probably...

    Bergman vs Shaw updates

I've only been able to watch the match in spurts, but I've noticed that while Shaw is excellent at kicking and getting the hit, they never seem very controlled. More of a "hit and hope." Is that everyone else's observation, or am I making faulty assumption based off of my small sample size?

    Bergman vs Shaw updates

I'll give you that. Anybody can can get blown out, but I would agree that I doubt it's a 10 game difference between the two of them. Especially if they played several times.

    Bergman vs Shaw updates

Everybody said Shaw was the favorite too. They also said John Morra was the favorite. Dechaine is a great player, but I've never seen anything out of him to make me think he's a favorite against Bergman. He may break better, but I don't think he's a better shot maker, pattern player, or safety...

    Bergman vs Shaw updates

Good lord. Shaw just pushed out to leave Justin straight in for that out. I know he plays fast and loose, but that's starting to look like a give-up stroke.

    ★ world 9 ball championship ★ qatar★

This might be the first time I have ever completely agreed with you! I too would much rather just hear the click of the balls than listen to some idiot babble. I've found myself shutting off (or at least muting) some great matches because I couldn't stand the commentary.

    The Hustler, one more time

Do movies ever really get anything right? So this thread got me to thinking. I'd be curious if anyone on here has ever seen a movie that "gets it right" related to anything that they have in-depth experience with. But, we have people on here from all kinds of different backgrounds and...
