I would say that a low end cue is probably fine for lower skilled players. Higher level players and pros that rely on low deflection cues would not be able to play at the same level if you gave them a $99 players cue. The way the cue ball reacts to high amounts of spin and a hard stroke is night...

Depends on if you want it insured or not. Standard insurance coverage for Fedex is $100 and that is included with basic shipping. I shipped/insured a $1500 cue and it was about $50 each way. Edit: I shipped it inside a tubular hard case and used a Fedex box that was just big enough

I'm not usually one for production cues but I shot with a new Lucasi Lux edition last night and was impressed with the feel and play of it. The LD shaft had less squirt than any of the carbons I have tried. I think it had a Kamui med or hard. Not usually a fan of any tips harder than soft but...
