Does anyone know the hours for each day of the Show this week? Their web site does not mention it.

Also, if you are not an exhibitor or player in any of the tournaments, can you get in the show with cues? And how many? Thinking of maybe trading or selling some.

Thanks

Pooltime, I'm not sure of the times of the scheduled matches. It seems that part of the SBE website has not been updated.

I do know, though, that it is a no-no to buy, trade, and/or sell items unless you are a vendor. I have read that the vendors pay a booth fee for the privilege of exhibiting their wares in hopes to make a profit.

A close friend of mine did ask Allen Hopkins last month if he could bring a cue stick to the SBE and try to sell it, and Allen did state it isn't fair to the paying vendors if he allowed the outside public to bring in items to market, which kind of makes sense to me. :)

Exhitor fee is around $900 plus any cost for additional things needed for the booth - extra lights etc. So I think Allen is right - it wouldn't be fair to the paying vendors.

it wouldn't be fair to the vendors if a person was hawking his cues to anyone who walked by in the aisles of the show.in fact, he can expect to be escorted out of the show. imo, anyone is welcome and encouraged to bring cues and pool related items for sale to the vendors who are set up at the show.

When I was talking about trading, etc., the vendors is exactly whom I was speaking of. Question is, how does the staff of the show know, when you try to walk in with a couple cues, that you are brining in things to trade/sell to vendors and not someone looking to sell to people walking the aisles? Are they just taking people's word for it?

Pooltime,

It's really touch n go when it comes to bringing in cues. From what I remember, they don't give anyone a hard time unless you try to walk in with a suitcase full of cues. Then you will be asked to show your Exhibitor badge. If it really is only one or two cues, you should have no problems, unles, like someone said, you are hawking your wares in the aisles to everybody that walks by. That will earn you a quick trip home.

I believe the Expo center in open just about 24 hours a day. The vendors knock off around 9PM and the pool tables are going all the time. Last year, SBE started something new. From 12 AM to 6AM, you can pay $10 flat and play all night on the league tables, downstairs. The action tables are coin op/pay by the game and are open all day/ all night for business ;)

Trust me, the staff will know.

First of all, it's not fair to the vendors that paid $$$$ bucks to get a booth and you try to sell a couple of cues under the table. If you want to talk to vendors, that's one thing. But to try and sell your cues to someone walking down the aisle, you will get busted. Someone will tell the security staff and then you'll get escorted out of the Expo for the remainder of the Expo.

Been there, seen that, and my husband is one of the security staff.

some might not like it but I think non exhibitors should have to pay $XX for each cue they bring in,,,,,would stop those trying to take advantage of the show to hawk their wares without being a legitimate business person,,,,IMHO,,,jflan

Thanks everyone for the info... I want to state again that I was looking to bring cues for sale/trade WITH vendors - not trying to go against the grain. I fully understand these people are paying good money to display their cues and should not have to deal with individuals walking the aisles selling their equipment.

Fri 10am-8pm
Sat 11am-8pm
Sun 11am-5pm

You can bring cues in...just not multiples...no dealer cases without an exhibitor badge. If you are planning on trading multiple cues, you may want to contact the exhibiting dealer prior so that they can meet you at the entrance to help get your cues in for trade. That, however, is a suggestion...it really depends on your dealer. I don't see someone helping you out like that unless they have a sealed deal prior. JMHO.
