Things are a little different this year with the stream moving to Youtube. 6 matches today with timestamp on each one. The chat is disabled on the stream. It would be a troll fest with the number of viewers they will get, so that makes sense.

Same as past years, Arcaic Hall in Amagasaki City, Japan. Hopefully they have the view wide enough like past years so you can see other matches as well.

It looks good! Notice how well you can see this match using a single camera mounted at about a 45 degree angle. You have a good clear view of almost every shot. Pool is a perfect sport to watch on TV or online!!! Compare this to trying to watch a tennis match, golf, or most team sports on TV. You need multiple cameras and you still won't see it this well. Just something to think about.

Six Filipinos through so far, plus the two Ko brothers. I'd take a Filipino to win the whole thing.

You may be right, Jay.

Taiwanese dominated first half of this decade but Filipinos have won 3 of last 4. Name on most people's lips is Johann Chua who has won 2 of last 3.

2017 Johann Chua
2016 Ko Pin Yi
2015 Johann Chua
2014 Raymond Faraon

2013 Ko Pin Yi
2012 Chang Jung Lin
2011 Ko Pin Yi
2010 Thorsten

Is that a glued on racking template?
I've never seen that type of template before and seen a permanently fixed one during a tournament. Is this a first?
Also, it would have to be a felt/cloth material to mimic the table...close to what Renfro developed with the AccuRack.

Not a first, they do this every year. Looks like its anchored there with the spot from the looks of it.

Chua did not look like he had his 'A' game in match one though he did win

This is so clever and neat, the template looks so thin and transparent so it won't affect the playing surface and the visibility at all. This is the best for rack-your-own tournament, avoid any possible confrontations from racking, plus the templates won't be hanging out on the tables..

It can definitely change the playing surface. I am watching the Kunihiko TAKAHASHI vs Kong Bu Hong that is live right now.

Kong was playing the 5 and trying to draw back for the 7 by the rack area. It started drawing back and rolled off staying in the rack and he had to play a tougher shot because of it. You could tell he was pissed as he tapped his cue on the ground.

Thankfully he got out to make it 6-6;.
