I checked the June, 1999 issues of both Pool & Billiard Magazine and Billiards Digest.

Neither magazine lists Ginky's matches in order and with all the scores. But he played all the following opponents (and maybe more?).

Pat Howey -- win (score not given)
Matt Tetreault -- win (score not given)
Jose Garcia -- win 150-146
Grady Mathews -- win 150-45
Allen Hopkins -- win (score not given)
Dick Lane -- loss 43-123 (sending Ginky to the losers' side)
Allen Hopkins -- win 150-118 (Semifinal)
Dick Lane -- win 150-66 (Finals)

Was that the same as the us open title? or something different?

No, not the same. The "US Open" for 14.1 used to be a BCA event. More recently, that name for 14.1 is owned by CSI.

This 1999 National Straight Pool Championship, says Billiards Digest, was "co-sponsored by Amsterdam Billiards and Viking Cues and presented in association with The National 9-Ball Tour and The Tri-State Tour ..." Wasn't it held just once?

Thank you AtLarge!! That was very helpful

Allen Hopkins stated to Charlie Williams that was the only time in his career he had ever been beaten twice in the same tournament by the same player.

Yes, this event only occurred once.

We have 20 tickets left for the Hall of Fame Banquet if anyone is interested. Earl herring just confirmed his playing and attending the banquet to tell some Cisero stories!
