Okay.... I see what you mean......racking corners is the term that misled me.
Racking corners I viewed as position of the ball in the actual rack formation.
I’ve never heard nor read foot rail pockets referred to as the racking corners.

So if the 10 ball was indeed legally racked and pocketed in a corner pocket
it is a win unless the players agreed to something else. That’s why when you
compete in a tournament, it is often stated if you rack your own balls and then
pocket the 10, it gets spotted but when your opponent racks, it counts as a win.

But in a ring game, if you drop the 10 ball on the snap, it automatically gets
spotted again and you play the table as it lays. In ring games, if you make the
5 or 10 ball early, it always gets spotted again and you can pocket it again and
again until that ball is the lowest number ball on the table & then it stays down.

This applies to cash ring games which is the only type I’ve ever played in but
I suppose that in a fun, friendly game with pals, you can use any rules you want.
