That's a good initial Exam I score. After you take Exam II, please post both scores so I can add you to the list. And when you better your scores in the future, please post again so we can see how much you improve over time.

Thanks for posting this. I've added it to the list. I agree that there can be significant variance from one 10-ball set to the next, but if you do a few sets and take the middle value, the score will be fairly representative of your offensive "speed."

Get a jump cue and check out the free online videos and advice on the jump shot technique resource page.

With a little practice and proper technique, easy jump shots like these should be automatic.

I measured as best as I could but my table's pretty beat up, especially at the facings of the pockets, so it's hard to get accurate measurements. (I like to blame the facings when balls rattle and don't fall.)

As for the jump shots, I watched one of your videos and used my break cue: an old McDermott with a hard tip on it. While I did not pocket the OB, I did jump the CB over the obstructing balls twice and almost hit the OB both times. (With no priort warm-up attempts.)

Now I'm just angry and have to go practice to get a better score... stupid learning and improving and stuff.

That safety drill can definitely cause some pain. It requires good cue ball control, good aim, excellent speed control, and lots of focus.

You won't find it as easy if you eventually make it to the Doctorate level! The jump shot drill gets a lot harder in the Masters and Doctorate versions of Exam II.
