Anyone surpirsed by Ralf's superb effort to this point? This guy play big in big events. After all:

Ralf Souquet has won the World 9-Ball Championship
Ralf Souquet has won the Sands Regency 9-ball Championship
Ralf Souquet has won the US Open 9-ball Championship
Ralf Souquet has won the US Open 14.1 Championship
Ralf Souquet has won the BCA Open 9-ball Championship
Ralf Souquet has won the Derby City Classic 9-ball Championship

Ralf may win another DCC 9-ball championship today. Souquet plays big in big spots! End of story. That's why he's one of the best of all time!

Souquet makes 5 and 8 on the break. He just can't miss a shot! He runs out 5 games straight. Luat never gets to shoot again after the safety battles.

I don't think people in broadcasts land have any idea how tough these tables actually play. He made it look like a bar table.

I hope everyone enjoyed the play by play. What a great tourney, and BCnTV was great to have it available like this.

Ralf states one of his reasons for winning is his new girl...LOL He also said that when he is sitting in the chair medatating, that he is just trying to keep himself pumped up for his next shot.

For anyone who hasn't watched this match live, I'd strongly, strongly suggest getting the Accu-stats tape. You'll witness something special. Souquet never had a tough shot, yet every shot he played was extremely difficult due to their perfection. This is how Buddy Hall must have played in the 1970s. Nothing spectacular. Just on the right side of balls every shot.

They may be friends, BUT,. Jose Parica told me at the last Joss Tour event at Turning Stone Casino that Luat had beaten Reyes in the Philippines last year in a challenge match for 25 large. I asked Jose if he thought they might have been doing business and he told me that with the backers involved he very seriously doubted it. Luat has game. Glad to see him back playing in the states again...........mike

Didn't he win the DCC 9-ball 2 years ago, too? Was he with the same girl or does he just play awesome?

Hey Donovan, It bears repeating - thanks for the great play-by-play....Unfortunately, like everybody else is going to have to do at some point, I had to leave the DCC Thursday night and head back to reality.

Also I'm sorry I didn't meet/hook up with you at the DCC - we could have played some 1 pocket.....maybe next year, Ghost

Next year we will do that. However, this year it was paly by play via the BCnTV Live coverage. I didn't get to go this year.
