I spoke to an IPT ref on Saturday (I will not out him here). However, we were discussing the IPT and its possible demise. He told me the following....

The IPT and HO had plans to have 12 tables at every event, streamed live on the internet. Through HO Casinos, you could bet just about everything, online WORLDWIDE (winner of the tournament, winner of a certain match, winner of a certain game, even a players chances of getting out in a certain rack0. Then, the online gambling ban happened. Once Ho saw this, he hiccupped on the whole deal, and decided to rethink the whole thing. IF the gambling act had not passed, I think KT and Ho would have made a S**TLOAD of money, and we WOULD have had the greatest pro tour the world had ever seen.

a railbird's wet dream. ;)

and the ref was told this by the ipt staff, NOT the Ho organization. I was going to be sarcastic and write lol, but there is nothing funny about how EVERYONE involved with the ipt has been treated. I have NO doubt that the ref BELIEVED everything he was saying. The problem is, he was just repeating what he was told.

If only every student in a school had the ability to go beyond repeating what the person in front of the class says,

A lot of problems could solve themselves.

Very nice post!!!

Of course, and the Pope is Jewish.

Look, if Ho wanted to do something like that, he only had to offer to pay a reasonable fee to any major tournament, including the IPT, and they would have allowed him to set the video up. He didn't have to buy a losing tour for $150M. Think man!

Just how naive can you get?

IPT refs were so highly thought of by IPT and so much "in the loop" about IPT operations that even after some of them having to come into these forums here to complain about not being paid they still didn't get a penny until the hovering lawyers started to put the wind up IPT on behalf of other unpaid interests:rolleyes:

Have you not understood a single word that competent truthful people who have investigated this subject have explained over and over again? There never were any Ho negotiations, let alone any specific Ho financing deal foiled at the eleventh hour, period.Get over it.Sometimes the brown smelly object on the pavement you have stepped on is just plain and simple a dog turd,no amount of wishful thinking will turn it into a recently abandoned chocolate eclair:)

Not REALLY...There is NO major tour that would have drawn the players that the IPT could have drawn WITH EVERY EVENT!! The proposed payouts guaranteed it.

However, I am simply repeating what I was told by an insider. Do I give it merit?... A little more than I give all of the wild speculation that I read on the boards. To me, it sounds like a reasonable business plan and the IPT WOULD have made $$$$$ if this was/is true.

Now it is my turn to say "think man". If this had borne out Ho and KT could have raked in, what, 10, 20 million per event!!! WORLDWIDE betting!! Hell, Asia and the Phillippines alone would have made it worthwhile.

Get over it.

Get over what!!! I have NO interest in Ho or the IPT.

I simply posted a message stating what I was told. You can believe it or not. I DID NOT say I believed it!!!!

But I have learned my lesson. I will NEVER again pass on any info I receive to this board!!!! Less I be called NAIVE or told to GET OVER IT.

I am going to stick to practicing and playing pool. And hopefully, I will see you on the slate.

Happy now???

Glad to learn that you didn't believe it Fleece:)

The "inside information" theory you posted about online streaming of games accompanied by a gambling facility to attract gamblers and deter them from simply betting on IPT with another online firm has already been done to death in these forums and in bars and clubs all over the world. It is the only angle to the "online betting" connection that ever had any shred of credibility, albeit not much. Unfortunately however the story has already been thoroughly debunked as being totally untrue.

Under those circumstances when we now see you posting the same old theory in a kind of wide-eyed style you will appreciate how we might arrive at the conclusion that you give it some credibilty and are being naive. We do not know that you haven't kept up to speed on several earlier promotions of this theory and on recent debunking of the entire Ho angle.

Suit yourself what you do with your future "inside information",especially if it's of this calibre;) :)

FLEECE,

Do you find the timing of HO's epithany "coincidental"? Esp in view of how long proposed legislation had been on the table prior to RENO and when it was signed.

KT or the political candidate has created a hot topic for pool players.

The only coverage of the candidate was his own, no doubtly will be all glorifying. The unsuspecting voters or pool players were swayed by the press which creates today's controversy.

NYC cue is organizing a group (Eydie gets some cred to) to shed light on our political star KT.

Just because NYC didnt invest as much as KT on slander campaigns doesn't make his arguments less credible. So far he has proven a man of choice words. Which is more than I can say for KT.

But it does leave a hint of mystery and unpredictability. What I do know is that he is for the pool players very much as KT. RG has a longer history in the pool world, and he played in a tourney which I saw.

As far as promises go KT has more excuses than delivered promises. If you ever dated someone and they start giving excuses about not hanging out, you know that they are not putting any effort into that relationship.

***since every is so open to questioning posters on this thread why not someone attempt to field questions for KT camp. To sum it up why not parrot his press releases.

How do you KNOW this?

Bcause when Stanley Ho was asked point blank about the possibility of aquiring the ipt, his answer was, "what is an ipt"? Sorry fleece, this was covered recently in the Ho, HO, Ho thread on this forum. I refer you to it and it should bring you up to doate with regards to the Ho negotiations WHICH NEVER TOOK PLACE.

Someone in this thread mentioned eydie's participation as an afterthought. I didn't go back and look at who posted it, sorry, but just to set the record straight, eydie has invested more time and energy in this ipt debacle than kt himself!!

rg

btw, if you report my performance in that tournament, i'll be forced to send the hit squad after you with the concrete mocassin machine.;) :D

I know dreams die hard fleece but let it go. The IPT was nothing more than a failed pyramid scheme, KT has lied since day one, there is no Ho deal.

Don't be so gullible!

Consider this - The IPT organization is (Unless anyone can factually demonstrate otherwise) totally vertical. EVERYTHING comes from KT first at the top. EVERYTHING anyone claims to be "inside information" either originated from KT or is speculation or embellishment of snippets of things KT has said and only KT knew if they were actually true or not at the time he said them.

So if one IPT employee hears KT say something in passing, then tells someone lower down, quite possibly embellishing it along the way, then that person repeats it, also quite possibly embellishing it, third-hand to someone who posts it on an Internet forum it is not an "inside fact". It is "hearsay" and for very good reason it is usually inadmissible as legal evidence. (C.F. "Chinese whispers".)

BTW This is not isolated to pro-IPT statements. Other people have also been using similar anonymous hearsay to justify their criticism of the IPT and I personally find that just as tiresome, intriguing though some of it is.

The publicly available facts show clearly that either his claim that his personal fortune was guaranteeing the IPT's financial stability with no requirement for short-term profitability was a lie to cover the Ho deal that he was working on in secret the whole time, or that the Ho deal was a lie to cover not being able to finance the IPT personally. (Either because he can't afford to, or because he simply changed his mind about wanting to.)

At present no one else, other than KT, knows for sure which of these lies is the true lie.

I can't help but think that this scene from The Color Of Money has been running through KT's head the whole time:

"You don't know what to say, do you? Maybe I'm hustling you, maybe I'm not. You don't know, but you should know. If you know that, you know when to say no."

"What should I say?"

"You should say no. Why? Because it's too much money and I'm an unknown."
