I suppose since I got my smart-assed post out of the way I will actually reply to the thread to try to get it back on topic.
I, personally, am not that picky when it comes to the hit of a cue. As long as it has a solid firm hit with decent feedback and a forward balance I'm pretty much happy. That being said, I am very picky about the aesthetic quality of my cues. I really value even points, at all levels of veneers/recuts, sharp inlays and as near to perfection as possible for any other inlay, ring, wrap, finish or point work.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I don't, or at least try not to, sell my old cues so I can always play with which ever cue I want!
