My dvr shows quite a bit of current men's pool coming in the short term future.
Perhaps it is your provider that is failing you?
And network tv as it used to be known is dead. In 5yr, such comments will likely be as warrantless and complaints about pay phones being dirty.

You could also be describing Golf! There are plenty of overweight and out of shape pro golfers. John Daly comes to mind first and he's still making a good living on the Senior Tour.
It's easy to make fun of cornhole but the American Cornhole Association's web site is more useful and professional than anything in the pool world.

Yeah, but I don't consider golf to be a true sport. The pros have somebody carrying their equipment around, suggesting which club to use, what direction and mph the wind is coming from, and gives them the distance to the hole. Hell, the caddies are doing most of the work.
Then...the amateurs are riding from hole to hole on an electric children's toy. :grin:

I absolutely stand by my opinion that pool should not be considered a sport, nor bowling, nor golf, and many other games that utilize a ball of some kind. Just because a ball (or balls) are used doesn't qualify it as a sport. Last I checked Jacks was just a game.
Go ahead and compare your examples to football, basketball, baseball, hockey players, Olympic athletes and the like and see how they'd fare in a real athletic contest.

That’s all arbitrary....the athleticism required as is the mental aspects required in each. Each generally comes up with bullshit as to why theirs is more sporting. I’ve always though footballs was a crappy sport it’s extremely exclusive and they use an army of coaches to call everything. It’s a little silly compared to everything else. At the highest levels all of the participants are great at what they do and have put in great effort to get there.
Archery/shooting has been considered a sport for longer than anything mentioned....I’ll let that sink in and cap off my retort

Track and field is the perfect example.
You can throw tennis in with that. It's one man versus another (or two ladies). No excuses. Best player wins. Rarely ever a bad judgement call from the referee. Long, hard sets played in the heat/sun. It's the real deal as far as sports go. You will never, EVER see a fat, out-of-shape person win any kind of serious tennis tournament.
I am not a fan of football either. Maybe 50 or so years ago when it was played by men with some big cahunas.

I watched some of the Cornhole on TV the other night and the crowd participating in that and watching it live looked a whole lot like the local pool hall crowd on league night to me. Some of them even had fancy shirts too! :grin:

People love tennis and golf because of great shots - there are no great shots in pool - only safety's when a hard/great shot could be attempted, that makes it boring as hell to the average viewer.
Here comes the line of people saying "I love a great safety battle" Newsflash - it's boring as hell!
People understand great/hard shots, there is no excitement to average viewers in a safety.
This sport will never be on TV till it becomes exciting!
