Right enough is enough, I'm hearing that pool clubs may not be allowed to open at the end of this month but snooker clubs can?

So the Scottish government are not listening to anyone at this time and the only way I believe they will listen is if the Scottish pool leagues all come together as one along with their members and start putting pressure on this government to at least listen and give us the correct information.

I have nothing against snooker as an ex player myself but someone has to tell me why a snooker club will be allowed to open and a pool club will not and don't talk to me about the size of a table.

This is people's livelihoods we are talking about and the people in charge are doing nothing to communicate with us at all.

So I'm asking all pool league chairman/secretaries in Scotland to write/phone their MPs and put pressure on them to ask questions to the Scottish Government and hopefully they will start listening and give us some straight answers.

The Fan Cave .

Hi Bob etc !

I found this earlier but I didn;t know what thread to post it to but seen as this thread is working out to be thhe Billiards Corona Virus thread maybe it's best to post it in here .

https://www.thefancavememorabilia.c...RsqGkax5Ncqz79Ywf-RPuMtsm7N8OdRtmGKQZtDdwaxvA

Check out the prices dude's , a signed snooker ball from ronnie O'Sullivan is retailing at £50 and a Ronnie O'Sullivan painting will set you back £795 etc and it doesn't look like a scam website because it's a Fan memorabilia collector site by the looks of things .

Ronnie O'Sullivan Signed Original Jamie Artwork
£795.00 :

https://www.thefancavememorabilia.c...onnie-osullivan-signed-original-jamie-artwork

It's okay to co;;ect some memorabillia every now and then when you get the money but at those prices I am out lol !:wink::grin-square:

Bob have you thought about Billiards masks for the fans and how much would you charge for them ?

I'd say £10 for a face mask print is okay and PM Boris .Bonkers' Johnson has hinted it could be this way until this time next year :

https://news.sky.com/story/coronavi...-will-be-over-by-middle-of-next-year-12035749

Bob , honestly , how much would you pay for a Billiards theme mask ?

Bob , how much would you pay for a signed Billiards mask from say Ronnie O'sullivan , Judd trump , Shane van Boening or Earl Strickland ?

An Earl Strickland face mask would be fun and all of a sudden my face mask billiards theme sounds like a great idea !:eek::cool::grin-square:

Bob you get your boffins onto the face mask Billiards theme idea as soon as possible 1 :cool:

The Debate: Who is the greatest snooker player ever?

https://www.eurosport.co.uk/snooker...st-snooker-player-ever_sto7730064/story.shtml

My opinion going on the World Snooker Championship Titles .

1. Stephen Hendry .
2. Steve Davis .
3. Ronnie O'Sullivan .
4. John Higgins .

Mark Selby: Some supporters better than none for World Championship
:

https://www.eurosport.co.uk/snooker...for-world-championship_sto7818229/story.shtml

Quotes .

“I was really happy,” he told Eurosport. “We played two tournaments at Milton Keynes behind closed doors with no crowd - the first tournament we played was the Championship League, which we have once a year anyway on the calendar behind closed doors and that was something we were used to.

“The second tournament - the Tour Championship - was tough because that’s one of our biggest tournaments and every year we normally get a full crowd, so to play it with no crowd was difficult."

“Going to the Crucible, knowing what I’ve experienced over the last few years by winning it and playing in front of a packed audience and knowing what a fantastic venue it is when it’s full, it would’ve been disappointing going there with no-one at all. I know there’s not going to be that many – there are rumours it’s going to be 150-200, so probably 100 on each side – but some is better than none.

“It’ll definitely be exciting to have some people there and I think it’s the start of what’s to come and hopefully it’s not too far before we’re round the corner and the crowd can get bigger and bigger.”

He added: “I think you’re going to get shocks like that, and you’ll probably get a few more at the Crucible as well.

“For me, I hope whoever wins at the Crucible is someone that’s won it in the past. If somebody wins it for the first time, it’ll be fantastic for them, but you’ve also got the situation where it’s not a full crowd; not everyone’s been able to practice, and it almost takes the shine off their win if they’re able to win it.

“If someone wins it before who’s won it in the past, you don’t get all those questions asked. Hopefully that’s the case but we’ll have to wait and see.”

So maybe 200 fans will be allowed into The Crucible folks .

SPA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE : 2020 ANNOUNCEMENT
by: FCBash, Today 11:38 PM (#1)

Dear Members,

Our last communication was some time ago and, firstly, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you well and we sincerely hope you are staying safe.

These unprecedented times have impacted every single member, one way or another.

We hoped there was light at the end of the tunnel for everyone to get back playing pool, unfortunately, for the foreseeable, certainly the remainder of 2020, the SPA are now making the decision and shall not be hosting any events for the remainder of the calendar year. It is not safe to do so, where the health and wellbeing of our members is paramount.

This hasn’t been an easy decision to make, as with the event suspension in March, we have considered all options and waited as long as possible to take these steps.

We are now reviewing what action to take with the IM series for 2020 and shall provide more information on this in due course.

Please stay safe and we, hopefully, look forward to seeing you all in 2021!

Kind Regards,
SPA Executive Committee

I should've called this thread Corona Virus Billiards or something and that's the Scottish Pool scene snookered until next year sometime .

I've asked about The Lucky Break Snooker Hall in Clydebank and the word is it might reopen sometime this September .

It has came to my attention that when the World Snooker Championship's are on I usually switch to Salads for munchies when the action is on TV in between dashing to Da' Bookie's for bet's .

Da' Bookie 'Scotbet' shut down well over a year ago and not a bet or lot of Salad food has been ate recently due to 'The Corona Virus'

So here's some reminders.....

If you had told me earlier I could have sent you some yellow squash and some romaine lettuce both of which were excess producers. Sorry, not Rocket which the innerwebz tells me is "fresh, tart, bitter, and peppery."

You may be startled to hear that the squash ended up as homemade soup (with onions, leeks, thyme, and lemon) already.

2020 Championship canceled due to coronavirus

https://www.facebook.com/notes/unit...anceled-due-to-coronavirus/10159001986206454/

Quote .

" 2020 Championship canceled due to coronavirus
UNITED STATES SNOOKER ASSOCIATION·SUNDAY, 6 SEPTEMBER 2020·2 MINUTES
The Board of the United States Snooker Association (USSA) has taken the decision to cancel the 2020 United States National Snooker Championship due to the ongoing coronavirus situation in the United States.
This year's Championship had been originally scheduled to be taking place at this moment in time at the New York Athletic Club (NYAC), concluding tomorrow Labor Day.
It was then considered that the Championship could possibly still go ahead in early November at the NYAC, but today the Board has taken the decision the formally cancel the 2020 event.
"As there hasn't been any reduction in the rate of infection since our last Board Meeting in July, the USSA has had no choice but to unfortunately cancel this year's Championship," said Alan Morris, the Executive Director of the USSA.
"This is the first year since 2003 that there will not be a United States National Snooker Championship, but under the current circumstances the decision was really taken out of our hands.
"We feel sure that we have the full support for this decision from all the regular Championship players around the United States, and we hope to welcome them back to compete in this prestigious Championship next year."
The USSA would like to announce that the 2021 Championship is intended to be played at the NYAC, and the USSA thanks the NYAC for its continued partnership, although the dates for the event are now under review."

Dang pesky corona virus ! :(

Nostalgic British TV, Films and Adverts

Somebody somewhere put me into this Facebook group as the question was asked.....

"Does anyone remember a film or TV program being suddenly interupted for an ITN news alert? I can remember it happening during the film McKennas Gold when President Ragan was shot, and before that during, I think, possibly Rising Damp, when Mountbatten was blown up. They don't seem to do it any more. As I remember, it was only ITN that did it. I don't remember seeing it done by the BBC."

I replied with.....

Gerald Church The coverage of the final was interrupted by coverage of the Iranian Embassy siege, as the BBC took the snooker off the air to bring live coverage of the SAS storming the Iranian Embassy in London.[6]

Coronavirus – epsb guidance update

Following announcements by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson in respect of new national restrictions to address rising cases of coronavirus in England, the English Partnership for Snooker and Billiards has updated its current guidance documents for its affiliated snooker facilities in England.

Please note that this is guidance only and clubs must also continue to consult their Local Authority and Health and Safety Executive for approval of their club Covid-19 secure protocols.

KEY CHANGES
GENERAL CLUB COMPETITIONS
From 24 September there is no longer an exemption to the “Rule of six” for indoor organised sport for over-18s as previously in place. This has the following effect:

National Governing Body competitions will not take place until further notice
Pro-Am competitions should not take place until further notice
Snooker exhibitions should not take place until further notice.
Internal club competitions should be designed within the UK Government’s guidelines to align with the ‘Rule of six’. Any formats that could involve larger numbers of people mixing should be revised to avoid this happening e.g. played over several weeks rather than on a single day.

FACE COVERINGS
There have been revisions to the guidance in respect of face coverings as follows:

Face coverings now must be worn to enter all snooker venues.
These can be removed once at a designated snooker table or bar table, at players’ discretion.
They must be put on again whenever leaving the designated area. Exemptions apply.
BUSINESS OPENING
There have also been changes in respect of business opening and the availability of food:

All affiliated clubs must be closed between 10:00pm and 5:00am.
Clubs providing food and drink should observe the closing times for takeaways, but delivery services can continue after 10:00pm.
In licensed premises, food and drink must be ordered from, and served at, a table, which includes a designated snooker table.
Wherever possible, snooker balls and equipment should be brought to the booked table by a member of staff.
QR CODES
All businesses will need to display the official NHS QR code posters so that customers can ‘check-in’ at different premises using this option as an alternative to providing their contact details once the app is rolled out nationally (from 24 September). This is available from https://tinyurl.com/y68mfwwl

FURTHER SUPPORT
Any affiliated 147 Club requiring further support can contact Bob Hill for further information or alternatively is encouraged to share queries within our dedicated Facebook Group where club owners are encouraged to seek guidance and share experiences nationally for the benefit of all.
